Appendix Carry

I have a sticky holster. I use sometimes and depending how I’m feeling, I’ll either run it on the side or is appendix carry.

I prefer to draw to a high compressed ready position before presenting. At the top of that movement, I disengage the safety.

Having a manual safety for a ccw pistol is more so about the reholster than the draw. In a life/death situation, there is a great deal of stress induced neural regression. So, although at home you may be able to draw your pistol and reholster it a hundred times without a second thought or without even looking down at the holster when you do so, I would suggest that might not necessarily be the case under stress. And you may very well misjudge where your holster is and engage the trigger with your shirt or belt. Or at the very least, you will need to look down to reholster, which is a negative.

I want to be able to reholster the pistol without having to look down or having to think about the potential of the trigger getting engaged. After you have finished shooting, you re-engage the safety and at that point, there is no risk of an accidental discharge on the reholster.

Yep, under stress is a whole different game, that's why I asked. It sounds like you have trained
enough to have it figured out. Nice pistol, BTW.

Appendix is nice for vehicle carry, drawing in a physical confrontation, having more control from getting it taken/retention, and a fast draw esp when you stage your hands in front of your waistline.

Who carries with a manual safety? Yikes, unless its a 1911 or something cocked and locked.
 
I do. Down here in swampy FL that’s about the only place I can conceal it decently when in a tshirt without it printing like crazy.

True! And it can't be pushed out of battery either if someone is on top of you. One of the best self defense instructors I ever worked with, a dude who was the equivalent of retired Special Forces in Italy and did high-value private security work for diplomats, politicians, and celebrities, absolutely swore by most people carrying a snubnose on your weak side appendix instead of a backup mag for your semi-auto for that very reason. Chances of needing to fire more than 10-12 shots is slim, chances of someone being on top of you before you knew what was happening are a lot higher.

Second carrying a backup over a second mag, 2 locations to draw from and Murphy's Law primary could go down. Just don't get paralysis over which to draw.

Last couple years basically exclusively carry a G26 or M&P Shield front pocket, Duluth Trading Company shorts/pants have large fairly robust pockets. Harder to waist carry in the South with sweat and clothing options. Darker colors help conceal the print, never an issue or anyone obviously notice.

4 Years in the Airforce, as a drone pilot. What does that have to do with learning how to handle a pistol in combat?

And it is not an "accidental discharge" it is a "Negligent Discharge". I still appendix carry a Glock 19 (winter) and P365 Xmacro Comp Spectre (summer) Appendix carry.

Yeah I don't worry about printing, the only people who pay any attention are other comcealed carriers, 90% of the general public is oblivious to their surroundings in general lol
