Appendix Carry

I saw an older guy, at least 75, walking through the Safeway a few days ago wearing a lumbar pack, boonie hat and sporting a Glock while he selected produce lol.
years ago when I was stationed in pheonix I woke up went to the kitchen to make coffee and out in the street there was a guy in his underwear with a pistol in his hand, I immediately called 911, and the caller said is he doinf anything illegal, I said hes in his underwear and carrying a gun, 911 lady said thats not illegal and hung up

That’s more people carrying AIWB than I expected. I play it safe; my High Point is in a fanny pack, unchambered, magazine out, and trigger lock on. You can never be too careful.
A C9 makes a better basher than a pistol so I get it completely....

I was thinking about this the other day. I got a belly band I use with a SA hellcat (trigger safety). I hate it because it’s pretty easy to tell someone’s carrying with a belly band when they’re in a t shirt.

I got an ankle strap that I don’t like for a primary ccw… because obviously that interferes greatly with reaction speed.

I got a shoulder strap like the investigators wear that I can’t get used to.

Was thinking about trying appendix but because there isn’t a manual safety on my edc I figured I’d shoot my dick off if I ever did need to use it and didn’t clear the mag prior to reholstering.

I actually only carry now when I now I’m heading into hostile territory but I need to find a better method and start getting into the habit again.

Shit is still fucking sketchy out here in the real world.

Any ideas for carrying a hellcat ?

besides a new edc … I’m always looking anyway but the hellcat is pretty comfy in my hand.

Try strong side back of hip, like 4 o'clock position if you're a righty. Hides pretty well under a t-shirt depending on your body type and its better to graze an ass cheek with a bullet then take one to the family jewels. I don't like carrying in that position personally but it works well for some people.

3 or 4 o'clock position is about your only other option, as Scud stated above. Or, there's always
the fanny pack.

Guns aren't magical objects that break the laws of physics and go off randomly (minus the P320 or whatever). I mean I get it, its scary at first, just don't be an idiot and dry practice to get the muscle memory. You should be able to reholster loaded weapon no look wherever it is located. Its really not that big a deal. Just don't mash your finger in the holster and you won't have a problem. And a manual safety is a bad idea on EDC anyway (unless say 1911 or such). Plus, you could always get lucky and just loose a nut instead.

Have you considered this holster - a smart carry? Great for non-permissive environments and stealth, offices with business clothes etc. Downside is harder to draw - really need to practice - and you should probably remove to reholster. Goes under your pants, sort of like appendix.

The Phlstr Enigma is a really great concept along these lines. More expensive for sure but can be worn with any outfit. Tucked shirt, dress belts, ladies can rock it with skirts even.

I mean, they do function... They're ugly as sin and the ergos suck and they're quite chunky for their capacity and feature set but they do usually go bang when you pull the trigger.
High Point gets clowned on alot... They do serve a purpose for a cheap option to protect yourself... With that the purchaser should be aware that cheaper parts, materials are used to make them... Which leaves reliability questionable at times... Some have been better than others made by them

Might be a bit heavy but try a pocket holster and carry it in your pocket... I've done it many times with my G26... You get use to the weight

This...I just use IWB holster right in pocket, maybe not perfectly ideal but gets the job done. Gets me the nice bulge in my pants that my micro penis never will.
