So, I'm 47 and 2.5 years ago I went into AFib due to a thyroid issue. It was pretty severe but it was resolved. Went the last 2.5 years without a recurrence. Just had another AFib episode a couple weeks ago. They found very mild aorta enlargement and very mild LVH which docs aren't very concerned about. However AFib can cause strokes so Im on a blood thinner. Cardiologist has referred me to an Electrophysiologist. He is keeping me on TRT as he cited a 85,000 person study that shows very little relation to TRT and AFib and said getting off TRT could actually be detrimental to my overall heart health. Has anyone hear dealt with AFib because it sucks. I was told that alcohol and diet sodas could actually trigger another episode in the future. Im not a big drinker, once a month, but never having beers or diet sodas again is no life for me. Anybody on here with AFib who could tell me their experiences?

Here's the kicker. My cardiologist and a neurologist reviewed over 20 years of my medical records and both believe the fact that I had the Covid shot and 2 boosters has led to my heart issues. 2 weeks prior to my first covid shot, I had a checkup and my BP was 108/62. 7 months later I cane in for a checkup and my BP was 152/108. My weight was the same and no changes to diet or supplements. Less than a year after the second booster my AFib and tachycardia happened. I had zero LVH and no aorta enlargement prior. I run 3-5 miles a day, lift 6 days a week and have a BF consistently in the 9 to 11% range. Both the neurologist and cardiologist said they've seen a huge rise in perfectly healthy males with new heart issues after receiving Covid shits even deaths of males in their 20s and 30s with no cardiac history. If this is true Im so fucking mad I got those shots

I had it and had the shit done where they went in and burned a spot on the heart to stop it from going crazy( ablation) . It was about year and half ago . Dr said stay on trt . I took off about 6 months then hopped back on trt and took it easy for about a year and ramped it up. I keep track of HR and BP . As long as it’s in check no worries . Just got bloods done this week , all good . I would think same with alcohol , a few niw and then might not be an issue but I’m not a dr . If u get it straightened out just pay attention to what you do and how body reacts

Running can cause thickening of the walls of the heart.. marathon runners are prone to the thickness of the walls of the heart...it could very well be the combination of everything that lead to that...

I as of early May 2026 spent 3 or 4 days in the hospital with vertigo and AFib which I had no idea I had... They believe the AFib caused the vertigo which was absolutely awful... My right ventricular wall is thickened some but most likely due to hereditary high blood pressure from youth... I'm on diltiazem er 360 mg for the AFib...in addition to that in on Lisinopril 10 mg with bisoprolol fumarate 5 mg twice per day... My heart likes to beat faster than a normal rate so the bisoprolol with diltiazem slow it down.. when I was in the hospital my heart rate was 140-146 until they controlled it.. now it sits roughly 60's rested with 88 being a high during extreme load from lifting.. I wasn't told no diet soda and didn't need a blood thinner.. I also I refused to get a COVID shot.. I understand what you are going through it sucks
