So I started fin about 3 years ago after we had our daughter. Was on it for a year and then stopped for a bit before conceiving our son. I didn't take it throughout her pregnancy because I heard it can affect the fetus especially a male and that's not something I would risk.

Now that my son is born. Is it safe to take fin or dut now or no? I know dht is so important when young so I don't want to put my child in any danger of that. I also stopped my minoxidil because I'm stressed about exposing him to that when doing feedings at night.

What do you guys suggest. Safe to use any of these or stick to natural stuff for now on?

Well we know that medications can absorb from semen during sex or ingestion, so if that is a concern, I would personally steer clear.

Most studies show low doses have little to no known interactions but I would personally rather be safe then sorry. I have seen many compounds absorb through semen over the years, whether is is vaginal sex or oral sex it certainly can absorb into the bloodstream and then be delivered to a breast feeding child. Does finasteride do that? I have not seen a study that suggests that but then again I haven't seen a study that even attempts to test that.

So unknown. Always err on the side of caution.

Besides FIN and DUT can cause short or long term ED for you in addition to the potential other effects. I dont let my clients use it one way or another. I do respect someones decision to choose to use it.

No. Fin or dut can alter the development of male genetalia in fetus, so there might be a risk for newborns im not sure . Idk the % of risk of transmission from you to the newborn but to me personally even the smallest chance isnt worth it. I guess honeslty it would depend on if youre referring to oral or topical? Oral would be much safer than topical. I cant see why oral fin or dut would be an issue if you were careful with the tablets and dust from them. But topical would be a no go. For me anyway.

Thanks man yea would def only use it if my wife stops breast feeding and def wouldn't use the topical version. You have any suggestions on what to use? Currently just ketakenazole or however you said that and micro needling. Was using topical min but scared to use that around my newborn now
