Looking for advice. I'm looking to do a first competition next year, have a solid base right now but don't really have the mass. Wondering what is the best way to go about building a competition level physique. My current training split is push/pull/legs (chest/tri/shoulders, back/bicep/rear delts, legs/abs) ~5x a week with high carb high protein diet.

You have a solid base but no mass?
Sorry, wouldn't that be the solid base?

You're always fatter then you think you are and have less muscle then you think you do.

Hire a coach, learn and let him get a handle on your body for a few months.

If you can't afford a coach, eat as much chicken, rice, potato, egg, oats as you can choke down every day and train harder then you ever have. After 6 months of that, reevaluate and go hire that coach.

From just looking at this picture, you would probably not be competitive in open bodybuilding or even classic with this amount of muscle and structure.

Keep growing.
Not in a negative way I agree with @Montego. With that said do not get discouraged. I have done shows for 30 plus years. There are very small local shows that you can find and get your feet wet, but not yet. They only category I can see you entering right now is a small local show in the men's physique category. Most of these shows are broken down by height, weight, age and so on. Again, don't get discouraged. Find out what category you want to compete in. Attend a show and see what your competition looks like, 100% hire a coach and have them guide you through. Good luck brother, it will take some time but you get there.

Brotha all good info and constructive criticism here take what everyone’s saying apply it eat and train your ass off and results will
Speak fkr themselves also it’s all fun to say you wanna compete but until yous drilling through that kt takes houll

In love with just bodybuilding and the process first

I think he might benefit from going through a prep with a coach. Every prep is a learning experience even if he doesn't place. Getting shredded is a huge shift for the body and it learns.

Just an idiot’s opinion; but get shredded and see just how much body fat you can lose around the lower abdomen and hip area. I have a feeling if you got peeled, half of that would disappear and give you an actual taper. Decide from there if competition is for you…
