As an example, my back day used to consist of six different kinds of rowing movements with 100 reps.

I read its redundant and a waste of time. pick the one you get the most out of use it until I can't progress then swap in the next one.

on 10/22 I hit this for 600x3 and probably could have taken a 4th. The first rep moved very quickly.

I understand probably placebo.
