Becoming the Iron Lion

SB Labs
Well, no bruising this morning.

Still some swelling and it's tender but, I might have gotten lucky.

Started some bpc and tb from iron Lion yesterday and I'll continue that for a bit.

Fingers crossed that we avoided anything too bad.

Well I think I was in fact lucky this time.

Went out to the property to get a little work done since I had the day off and there was some discomfort in the pec but nothing awful even though I took it very easy on that side.

Moving it around a bit has helped the tenderness so I think I'm good but, I'll still be nursing it for a while.

I have a leg session and a pull session before I would train push again so, I'll take it easy during the pull day to make sure I don't do anything dumb.

I'm just shocked it's not torn after what I felt.....I mean, I've torn one muscle and KNEW it (my sartorius) even though it was from a cramp and it didn't feel like this.... Two distinct pops...... Guess I was lucky

Went in today and did arms.

Pec is feeling better but it's still pretty tender if I accidentally move that arm certain ways. Just needs more time.

Been putting the BCP/TB combo from iron Lion directly in the site since the injury. 500mcg of each per day.

Arms were fine unless I stretched the tricep too much on a bent over or overhead extension.

I'm highly considering going to have cortisone shots put in the knees. Y'day my left was bothering me for zero fucking reason and today the right was doing the same.

It's a terrible idea but, this is getting old when I can't be pain free even though I'm not training legs. Might get a consult with an orthopedic and see what exactly the options are.

Still nursing the pec.

Getting better ever day but there is still a bit of soreness there.

I trained arms the other day but that's been it.

It's not always sunshine and rainbows so, make the most of the time it is!

Glad the pec is getting better.

Pretty sure you know this, but be careful with cortisone shots. They often work great for pain relief, while it works - but they can degrade the joint faster over time. It’s one of those things that if it’s just to break an inflammation cycle and get you actually healed, it can be a great tool. But if it’s managing a chronic condition (osteoarthritis, for example), then it can end up being a raw deal in not too long a time

Good idea to talk with an ortho about options, as it might give you a better idea of what’s causing it and how best to treat it. Although orthos don’t always know…

Good luck with it. Chronic pain blows

Yeah cortisone is a last resort.

If I can't be pain free daily, without training, I'd rather be pain free and train while I save for the knee replacement

Trained pull last night.

Overhead movements were not ok. No bad pain but some discomfort there when weights increased so, still need some more time with the pec.

Everything else that wasn't overhead felt fine.

Didn't train like usual but got some solid work in.

Xplode pull-down -3 sets with lighter weight since this didn't feel good

Arsenal multi grip row 3 sets

Life fitness row 3 sets

Close grip cable row 3 sets

Wide grip mag row to chest 3 sets

Biceps all throughout.

Got a good pump in the lats and upper back so some success.

I've only trained 7 times this month ..... One of those was an arm day. Between the pec and getting the property ready to move I just haven't had the time to get in there but, priorities have changed a bit and some time off isn't the end of the world these days.

After we get settled, I'll be able to get back into the routine but, right now I've got bigger fish to fry then my retirement from retiring from bodybuilding

Legs tonight. Just looking to improve on my previous rehab focused layout.

Wall sits felt better this week. Was able to hit thirty seconds on all 5 sets without collapsing. Adductors were super set here.

Step downs and one leg hip thrusts. This was an interesting combo. The single leg hip thrust is almost a static hold for the quad so these are challenging together. 5 sets of 15 on both, added fifteen lbs dumbbell to the step down to challenge the knees here.

Belt squat and leg extension. No weight or rep progress here this week on purpose. Wanted these sets to be done without shaking and, they mostly were up to 8ish reps on the last two sets of extensions. Had a bit of tremors here but the contractions were much better and overall felt improved.

Tibialis raise and squat press. The squat press was added from last week. Just getting a deep stretch and controlling the load. I figured out a way to do the tib raises better as well.

Lying hamstring curls and lunges. Just two sets there to finish out. A single set of leg curls cramps my hamstrings so, this was plenty.

A good amount of work. Hoping my knees feel good tomorrow and I'll going in the right direction.

Pec is still funky. Almost feels like I got a lump there.... Kinda strange.

Hopefully I'll get in to train and test it out today but I've got work and more labor to do at the property.

Next week is d day.... I'll go purchase the RV and set up delivery. After it's delivered, I gotta build fence which shouldn't be too bad then we can move in.

After that, I'm hoping to get back on a regular training schedule. Weight is dropping pretty fast but, is just water.

Yeah, pec isn't ready yet.

Did some very light work on the pec deck and it still feels injured so, didn't chance it.

Biceps triceps and delts instead.

The cool part about not training much is, when I do train the pumps are crazy.

Arms felt like they were going to explode. As flat as I felt and looked before training, during and after I was as full as a balloon.

Machine preacher and dual cable extension 4 sets

DB laterals and bent over extensions 4 sets

DB curls close grip press downs with mag grip 3 sets

Rear delt laterals cable curls

Pinwheel curls and DB extensions

Took about thirty five minutes. Fun fun session

I guess this is a damn Home and Garden log now instead of a training log for the most part lol.

Today was clean out a shed full of 20 years of stuff...... Holy shit.

5 hours non stop to get it into good shape. We didn't even touch the lofts on either side.

Opened up about 70% of the floor space so it's got plenty of room to store what I'm taking out there tool wise.

Burn pile is huge again but the wind was to much today to torch it. I'll try again tomorrow if I don't work when I go out there.

I plan on laying out the fence tomorrow and getting some of the t posts in where I can. I can't drive them all because the RV needs to get in there but I can do the two long sides I think.

Going to do 4ft welded wire.... Probably 300-400 ft total. I've never done a welded wire fence but, I guess I'm gonna try to use a fence puller? I dunno how tight I can get it by hand or using a few ratchet straps so if anyone has insight, I welcome it.

My wife did the community yard sale yesterday. We got rid of everything we put out, and only gave away a few things for free. Think we made $350? Much better then paying to take the stuff to the dump.

Getting close!

What you buy some acres out in the country?
5 acres.

It's the land my parents got when they moved down here. They were going to will it to me when they passed but, after Dad passed 4 years ago and Mom's health has gotten worse, we agreed that us going out there and building sooner rather then later was the best plan.

Mom's house doesn't have central air or heat that's works anymore. One window unit in her bedroom and one gas heater in the front room. In the Texas heat, that's a terrible situation to live in, especially when you're older.

So we're going to build a house with an in-law suite for her so, she's got a nice place to live and I'm not worried about her getting hurt or heat stroke out there by herself.

"Trained" today

Nine sets for back with pretty light weight and a few sets of single arm pec deck to see how it's progressing.

There's still a knot where I felt the pop and it's not fully right yet.

I've lost about 12lbs over the past few weeks and I'm pretty stringy right now. But, were getting closer to being able to get back into routine.

Been crazy busy but, update -

RV acquired
RV delivered
Sewer all hooked up on gutter rails
Deck and ramp built
Some gravel put down in the entry way to combat mud
Everything in storage we didn't need
Everything moved into the RV

Pretty much settled in at this point. I've got some odds and ends that need to be taken care of but, ready to get back on schedule.

This was a very challenging week with the move and then we had some issues with a leak in the skylight, a shower not draining (operator error) the dog having anxiety through the roof with the move and countless other things but, we made it.

Sorry for the absence but, had to happen. Hope everyone has a great Easter! Happy Bunny Day

Finally finished off the checklist today.

Everything I can think of that needed to be done is done and, I'm sure there will be little things here and there still but, we can focus back to life now.

Got groceries y'day and prepped everything today. I ate fast food like 6 times over the past ten days and I forgot how terrible it is. I was also living off energy drinks and protein bars, the Met-RX ones give me awful gas, so being back on my normal heals l meals today is making me feel much better.

Took the hand tiller and broke up ground in front of the RV y'day and put down seed. This is the third time seeding the yard. First time was immediately after dirt work and I guess that seed was just bad because I haven't seen anything yet. The second time I just cast the seed right on the ground and watered, probably why it's not coming up. This time I broke everything up a couple inches deep, watered, seeded, raked and watered again. Hopefully it'll take to help the mud.

Put down some egg rock and pavers for the wife's walkway from her parking spot. Used a bunch of that mulch and gravel glue on the pea gravel hoping it'll help keep it in place since I didn't dig a trench for it or put up any barrier.

Propane gauges in. Bug zapper acquired. Various hand and dish towels. Gate latch put in (it's dinky and won't stop anything but, it makes me feel better when I'm not here at least).

If I don't work in the morning I plan on going to the gym for the second time since the 21st..... Been a while lol. Knees and body feel good though so that's a plus.

Starlink is going great btw!

Well I trained push.

Very light, high reps, feeling out the chest. Still a tiny little twinge in the area I injured but, if I hadn't been focusing on it I wouldn't have noticed.

Running on fumes from my real work this past week, the compound work has slowed but, still been doing some small things.

Check-up with the DR Tuesday and blood work today for that visit. Just my yearly thing, nothing exciting.

Here's to hopefully REALLY being back on plan lol.
