Injectable Proviron, could it ever make a comeback? - The drug was studied in the treatment of depression in men along with mesterolone in the mid-1970s but was never introduced for medical use.

Proviron as stimulatory drug like a nootropic..:D(y)

Mesterolone as an anti-depressant even as INJECTION form.. That's right, Mesterolone was once used anti-depressant in INJECTION form, as mostof us know it was used in the oral application for the same intent..
One will argue that Masteron (Drostanolone) is the same, it's NOT..

Here's some old info that we all may know, yet below is some info about it's short term use in oily form..

The German hormone manufacturer Schering did tests in the seventies on an injectable analogue of the anabolic steroid mesterolone, the active substance in Proviron. We, the industrious compilers of this free webzine, discovered this Friday afternoon when we were browsing through patents. Researchers at Schering gave mesterolone cypionate and classic mesterolone to men suffering from depression – and the results were promising.
Mesterolone

Mesterolone resembles DHT, the androgen metabolite of testosterone. The difference with DHT is that mesterolone has a methyl group on C1 and DHT does not. The methyl group makes mesterolone into a very mild steroid. So mild that, according to studies done in the 1970s, oral doses of 75-150 g daily have a negligible effect on the body's own testosterone synthesis.

At the same time the 1-alpha-methyl group inhibits enzymes that neutralize mesterolone in the body. That's why mesterolone can be taken orally.
Most handbooks say that mesterolone is too mild for male steroids users. In the past steroids users have taken mesterolone as an anti-oestrogen but without much success, and to restart the body's own testosterone production after a course of steroids - with even less success.
Mesterolone as an anti-depressant

In the 1980s researchers at Schering published a couple of studies in which they had got small groups of men suffering from depression to take 300-450 mg mesterolone daily for a period of six weeks.

This treatment was successful in most of the subjects.

In another study the researchers compared mesterolone with the anti-depressant amitriptyline.

Mesterolone cypionate
Schering's research on the anti-depressive effect of mesterolone started in the 1970s, as the discovery of a patent dating from 1974 shows.

In that patent the researchers explicitly mention mesterolone and its esters, one of which was named mesterolone cypionate [structural formula shown below].

According to the patent, mesterolone cypionate is particularly suitable for oral use, but can be injected too.
The patent also happens to cover the use of nearly all possible analogues of mesterolone as anti-depressants. The figure below gives an idea of the dosages that the researchers used.

Mesterolone as a stimulant
According to the patent, the researchers administered mesterolone and its esters to subjects in both low and high dosages. The high dosages, shown above, had an anti-depressant effect, and the low dosages a stimulatory effect. The stimulatory dose for mesterolone administered orally lies somewhere between 1 and 20 mg, according to the patent.
"It has now been found that mesterolone and its esters exhibit a psychostimulating effect at lower doses", the researchers wrote. "The desired psychotropic and CNS-stimulating effects of mesterolone occur within 2-3 hours after administration."

With the new delivery systems and esterfications/PEGlyted of hormone/peptide API’s - They could either take a large oral dose that evenly releases over a week or an injectable undecanoate or buciclate that could release for for almost a month . They are able to make an oil(lipid) based drug and a water based drug that wasn’t possible before , they can even mix them . So crazy . That’s where the $$ is at …..CDMO (delivery & excipients/prodrugs). I wish the US would take another look at Mesterolone, Methenolone, and Drostanolone Prop.

Interesting. I absolutely love the way Proviron makes me feel but NOTHING turns on my oil glands like Proviron. Like it’s terrible and so bad I can’t use it. Takes several months for the oil to subside too. I wonder if injectable would cause the oil slick.

This is a great question.. I too have certain compounds that activate acne (stanozololo) and takes months to clear up. I think once that trigger is tripped, regardless of the hormones formulation, it will likely happen.
That's just a guess, based on my experience assessing what I went through with oral, water base and oil base winny.. The same result.
Its ok tho, winny is terrible IMO anyhow, lol..

I adore Proviron. I would absolutely love an INJ version

As for Amitryptiline, I administered that drug for many years. I despise it. I do not believe it is safe and I did not feel comfortable administering it to patients.

Ohh, man... Do tell why?
I'm always down to learn something new... Give it to us man..
( all ears )

It turned my patients into zombies literally.
It contraindicated with alot of other meds.

I would watch them become emotionless. Not Depressed, not happy, just void of ANY emotion.

They all said it was worse then being depressed.

The pscyh meds I administered were some of the most dangerous drugs I have ever seen in my life. I saw patients with auditory and visual hallucinations. You name it.

One of my patients was actually sleeping in his shoes and clothes at night and when asked why, he said he was seeing the "devil" appear in his room and watching him. He would run out of the room or jump out the window to escape. In his mind, he was truly seeing this and hearing voices.

Scary stuff. He wasn't acting either.

Winny is my number 2 biggest oil producer lol. Cant use winny or Proviron simply for that reason.

I had forgotten that Proviron did that to me until I used it again about 6 months ago. The oil got so bad at 40+ years old that I had to hop on some accutane. I’m going to continue using it until I’m so dry that my lips are cracked and bloody lol.

people that have never had significantly oily skin don’t realize how bothersome that really is.

Brother, I'm sorry that you had to experience all that, and I'm right there with you in the older Lions club.
I myself had to go on a pretty aggressive treatment with accutane, it was some pretty intense dosages, blood work monthly, 6 months worth.. I haven't had a flare up that bad sense but I do have my moments.

But there's just some compounds I'll never go near again. Plus I'm different, my goals are different and life is just different.

I had a supplier of injectable Proviron and always wanted to try it but never got the chance. He was usually sold out. Just checked with him and he has it in stock.

Same. I know a guy......I have never tried it, it seems more expensive than ordering tabs.

Could you imagine this stuff in Mesterolone cypionate ester? I'd do 3 shots a weeks, M/W/F and on every day I would still take a min dose tab daily..
