I won't defend Dana too much because he doesn't matter that much to me, but I have been watching him for 33 years and have been involved in the mechanics of how the ufc works. I have more respect for Dana White than any mma fighter.
Dana doesn't fuck over fighters, fighters fick over themselves and mental midgets fill in gaps by saying it's someone elses.fault.
 
By 'fucking over fighters' I don't mean he's deliberately telling judges to call fights. I'm saying he has deliberately not gave fighters he's had beef with shots at the title even though they have consistent wins. My point being is we will see how Stricklands future is and if he gets another shot.

Yep. This is the problem. Look at Randy Couture. He talked a lot about the unlawful ways that the UFC and Dana pay fighters and even stop them from taking promotions outside of the UFC to fund their career. Randy Couture even went to court over this and as a result Dana literally blacklisted him forcing him into retirement.

I like that Dana is kind of a say what I want kind of guy but don't be fooled, he's a real POS.

Some shady shit was definitely behind this, because I said this before and I'll say it again that Dana would cringe whenever Strickland would talk. There's even videos of Dana and the fighters doing other things that were not press talks, and Strickland would say something or do something, and Dana would try to stop it.
Dana couldn't stand the guy.

Please stop with the "politics" side of these decisions. For those of us who have actually competed in MMA, now how sport commissions work and have been following the sport closely since the inception know that Dana White/UFC has ZERO influence in the scorecards of individual fights. It's the State commissions. On top of that...the scoring system for MMA is terrible and was simply copied from boxing which is a whole other sport. The scoring needs to be revamped and we've known this for over a decade. Good luck changing the commissions of these States as they are retarded and run by people with no idea of the fight game. In many cases as well, the judges have no background in MMA which makes zero sense and honestly is ridiculous.

It's bad/inconsistent/uneducated judging, not some UFC dark conspiracy.

Right on man, the scoring is absolutely terrible as we all know. Years and years we have seen fighters get completely duked.
There was a saying that we would go by, and still do on the mats.
"When competing don't leave it in the hands of the judges".. This can go for any organization, any affiliation or any type of combative competition, from a local circuit, to any larger events. Even at trials.. never leave it in the hands of the judges if in the event it could be avoided.

Yeah I've already said multiple times in this thread I never said Dana somehow twisted the scoring so I have no idea why that keeps being brought up. I was simply talking about Dana's business tactics and blacklisting fighters. I only brought this up because of how Sean runs his mouth all the time which worries me about his future in the sport.

That being said yes the scoring in MMA is actually horrendous, not much different in other organizations. It's not just unique to UFC. Many fights in ONE had me scratching my head, I notice in ONE they tend score the favorite fighter better if it's close.
