Anyone got recommendations for weighted vests and running shoes? Going to start running more for cardio and current shoes are crappy. Weighted vest is to add to my dips/chinups/pullups exercises instead of using a damn belt and chains.

Thanks in advance.

For weighted vest, I would recommend Runmax which can go from 20 lbs to 150 lbs using the mini bar weights. I have the older model Runmax that goes up to 100 lbs and the velcro straps have completely eroded after years of use so I have to use a belt to keep it secure on me.

Alternatively I would recommend Kensui EZ vest which you can load up with standard or olympic weight plates (I think you have to buy an adapter) They come in 80 lbs, 150 lbs, and 300 lbs. Kensui is cheaper than Runmax too.

Sorry I don't know anything about sneakers.

I’m gonna look into the vest. My homie is a Marine and we used a weights vest to do dips, pull ups and jog.

Shit was AWESOME!!!!!

I’ve been using a backpack. You can just throw in any lb dumbbell you need and grind. Also good for rucking, which works way better than just walking on the treadmill.

I don’t know nothing about vests, but a backpack with plates is a good start. I used to stuff some shower towels at the military academy when we had rucking competitions, so the plates wouldn’t jump and slam against my back.

I tried the backpack, it pinches me shoulders.

I do like rucking though. There’s a few trails in Gainesville and Tallahassee I’ve explored and some in Houston. I may travel to H-town for some camp time this summer.

I've got some Brooks Adrenaline gts 24s that are really comfortable shoes. Might want to give Brooks a look.
Yeah these brooks recommendations are true. I went to a store and tried them out. I bought some New Balances.. see how they stand up. Brooks looks good, pricey, keep it in mind.

Thanks!
