hello all. been back in the gym now for about a year. im 32 years old and just not getting the results i want, i stick to a meal plan and hit the gym hard at least 5 days a week. just reading up on all this, again know next to nothing about it. just want to get the right direction so i don't cause myself any major issues.

There is a ton of good information on this forum especially the stickies. You may be overtraining a bit. I'm sure if you post up your stats, diet and training info the guys here will be happy to help.

This is a great community. Welcome aboard.

sure, after college i got married, fat and lazy. im 6'00' and was 250 end of last year, as of yesterday im at 202. i've been doing the jim stoppani superman workout, which is a 4 day per week workout, with at least one of the 3 offdays being a cardio day. i've tried all kinds of supplements but have kinda settled with isolate protein post workout, casein before bed, multivitamin, preworkout (noxipro) and fish oil.

as for diet, ive been trying to get where my midsection looked like it did 15 years ago, and its a slow go. i know im not eating enough calories to gain, which might be the problem???

breakfast - oatmeal, grapefruit, 3 egg whites
snack - greek yogurt
lunch - tuna on wheat, grapefruit
snack - apple 3 low fat mozzarella cheese sticks
dinner - meat(steak or chicken) mixed veggies, brown rice
snack - cottage cheese

any suggestions are appreciated. not sure if i should be looking at the specific workout, meal plan/calorie intake, or supplements/etc. thanks in advance!!!

Supplements look good. I'm unfamiliar with the workout but I'll google it in a few. I'd recommend doing fasted cardio for fat loss but cardio can slow muscle gains.

What is your total calorie intake? You should be getting at least 200g of protein and 80-100g of fat a day with carbs (preferably complex) filling in the gaps.

Looks like you're on the right track. May just need to dial it in a bit more. Keep in mind that any progress is still progress and fitness is a journey, not a destination.

Welcome! You have lost quite a bit of weight (good work)! Any medical issues? I would suggest getting a good check up, including bloodwork, and see where you are. Plenty of stickies about first test only cycles on here, but you really need bloodwork before you start.
Let us know if you need any help, and good luck!

had a complete physical in september at my wifes insistence. she was sure i was gonna have all kinda issues, as it turned out, everything was at normal healthy levels. they checked everything from cholesterol to blood pressure, etc., left the docs with a clean bill of health.

Since you are on here, I guess you are considering adding in some test. Lots of stickies, make sure you understand AI and PCT. once you get 10 posts you can PM, just let us know how we can help!

Grats on your weight loss and motivation for the last year. I'd hardly say that you haven't been getting good results! Keep it up!

absolutely correct. im doing my homework as we speak. as i said, i'm a virgin to all this so im sort of a blank canvas, open to all suggestion and input, i don't have any preconceived notions or opinions. just trying to learn as much as i can so i can be informed and effective.

. Good plan, you're in the right place. Read and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Congrats on the weight loss Longhorn. What are your goals in the gym currently? Are you trying to grow??

I've spent the last little while trying to undo what my laziness for the last 15 years has done. Ultimately I'd like to get back to around 225, lean muscle. I'm going to have to adjust my diet and take in a significantly larger caloric count, and switch to a more aggressive package. Thus my being here.
