Various news stories you don't hear on MSM. Feel free to add news.

youre putting a blanket statement on a group. havent seen any protests or cities roiting and burning over CK, at least not yet

Maybe, or maybe we’ve already seen a few more Eric Rudolph’s and just don’t know it yet.

exactly like saying all muslims are terrorist, its pattern recognition which isnt stereotyping. There are people on the fringes of every group, being raised in a religion doesnt make you religious. Im not a christian but Im sure to a liberal I look like it.
not all muslims are terrorist but all terrorist are muslim. Not all trump supporters are racist but all racist are trump supporters. not all bbers are gay but all gay bbers are ASF forum members

Christians always find a way to justify shitty behavior.

and nurses always find a way to be know-it-all arrogant pricks....
If you're too stupid to disassociate the actions of people from the actual teachings of a religion, you're dumber than we all thought

Nonsense, there’s no room for nuanced opinions or debate here. If a handful of people act up, it’s the entire groups fault. I don’t make the rules on ASF.

You come out of your mom’s basement for that post?

Like it or not, America was founded on Christian principles, and no amount of liberal opinion can change that.

America was founded on the principles of the enlightenment period. Those are straight facts. The founding fathers were a mix of Atheist, Christian, and Deist.

What is a Christian?

Could probably make an entire thread on that questions and get multiple response, maybe even from the same people. Some people don’t think Catholics are Christian for example. Mormons are often excluded, and those are entire denominations.

Enlightenment ideas influenced the nation, but its roots in ethics, law, and culture are unmistakably Christian. Of the 13 main Founding Fathers, at least 10 were Christian, showing that America’s moral and cultural roots were overwhelmingly Christian ✝️🙏

13 seems like odd number, name them.

You're odd.

These are the 13 Founding Fathers I think shaped early America the most. Sure, others helped too, but these guys had the biggest impact.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, Roger Sherman, George Mason, John Hancock, Thomas Paine.

So, of this list, I’ll give you Jay, Samuel Adams, Henry, Sherman, and Hancock.

Washington, Franklin, Jefferson, were really pretty wishy washy. Washington use to thank providence. Not Jesus or god, which is very thiest-ish.

Jefferson did actually create his own Bible, he took a razor blade cutting everything out he thought was bullshit, and was left with 84 pages. I don’t know if I’d consider that Christian. Can you have a Christ without his miracles and resurrection?

Franklin didn’t believe in a personal intervening god, more like a clock maker. Again, not very Christian.

I typically see the big 6 mentioned.

In total, this great country was built by about 50–60 key Founding Fathers roughly 238–249 years ago, If you include revolutionaries, diplomats, writers, and early government leaders, back when its future hadn’t yet been compromised.

I’d argue more than that really. Our history is complicated, and often the things we learned were bullshit but made good stories. Like Paul Revere was actually caught and never made it to Concord.

I don’t remember the guy who did, be I know it was a local doctor.

Though some Founders like Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin weren’t strictly orthodox, the culture they operated in was deeply Christian. Many others, Adams, Samuel Adams, Jay, Patrick Henry, Mason, were devout, and Christian ethics shaped laws, civic life, and public morality.

Our country's foundation reflects the values of the majority. What I'm saying is, the country was overwhelmingly built on Christian principles, even if a few founders leaned toward Deism or personal skepticism.

Everyone’s got their pick. You could argue others had a big impact too. Ethan Allen is one. He led Vermont’s revolutionaries and influenced early victories, but he’s rarely listed among the main Founding Fathers. You're probably referring to Dr. Samuel Prescott.

If America were truly founded on Christianity, the government would have enforced doctrine like Europe did, but the Founders knew religion had been forced on people for centuries, sparking wars and persecution. Even in the colonies, Baptists were jailed for preaching without licenses. That’s why the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and freedom from it. The foundation wasn’t Christianity, it was liberty, built to protect people from ever having faith imposed on them again.
