Sunrise has been awesome to me through the past almost 2 years now.
Casey is a class act and cares greatly about the community that he's
been a part of for many decades of his life.
Extremely proud of the team... We got Bodybuilder Steve on Prom
getting ready to do the Hurricane Pro coming up and he's a peeled 244 right now. Great structure too. I'm going to try to get some contest Photos to put up on ASF as Steve is Sunrises rep on ProM!

That would be sweet to see! This same guy that tore his tricep earlier in the year or last year?

Yea man I had a great time and was on a PL team with some good guys who were strength freaks and that was the best time in my training career. There was a gang out in Ohio at Louie Simmons Gym, "West Side" that were killin it when I was in the mix. Two guys in the 275's were leading the weight class in the US at that time and I could never get all 9 lifts to click on the platform on contest day, never did get one over on those two. Bo the 220's and 242's are the most crowded weight classes, more lifters fit that model and there were some studs. Three event powerlifting is a tough sport and to go 9 for 9 on the platform is not easy. Good stuff huh? Great memories, cool to shoot the shit with you.
What kind of weight where you doing if you don’t mind Casey?

Hey Nood,

I competed in the USPF and APF in the States. Started out in the 242's for about two years and then the 275lb weight class for the duration. I had a great run, (IMO) in the 275's, but I could not keep my bodyweight down and having to cut weight for a strength sport was going in the wrong direction for me, it just wore me down and stressed my joints. The 308 weight class was non existent and was introduced a few years after I retired from competing. I squatted 840, had 2 red lights on an 885 attempt, benched 630 and pulled 810. I never once hit a perfect 9 for 9 performance, but that is why I never won the Nationals... Three event Powerlifting was and is a demanding strength sport, as a strength athlete the injuries became more regular, once I entered into the 800lb-900lb range with my squat training. There ya go Brother.

Hi Nood,

Thanks bro, I have to say at the time I was not at all satisfied with my squat numbers, as well as my overall total. I was consistently hitting upper 800's in our weekly team training sessions. We trained with a mono lift and competed on the platform with jack stands. Now mono lifts are approved equipment for some federations and that added 40 plus pounds onto my squat in the gym. Walking out of jack stands on the platform then setting up for the head judge to give you the nod was the standard then. Thanks for the compliment, my records are all long gone and buried way down the list of has beens...LOL.

Hey Nood,

Steve is our guy at another forum. He is a current IFBB Heavyweight Pro and he did tear in his tricep 6 weeks out of the Tampa Pro last year. He and Bolan check off with each other as they are both Sunrise Sponsored Athletes. Maybe Bolan can share some pics and updates, he should check with our mods first, as we do not want to get crossed up with ASF, we love this forum.

The mono lift changed everything.... when I did my Powerlifting fling we had to walk out and set up... wait for the bar to stop bouncing, squat and wait for the judges to give the white or red lights.
I now use the Mono lift for all my squats. (y)
Big numbers Casey!!!! Strong like bull !!!!
