Question. Trying to cut the right way for once. Slow and steady. Sometimes for reasons that are unclear my metabolism skyrockets. I'll cruising at my .5-1lb/week losses and then for a few days in a row I can drop 3 or more pounds a day with full hydration, my water weight is mostly already off. How, do you approach this. Hold the course and let it happen? Or refeed and get back to the goal trend and keep the muscle and metabolism up. I was a dirty bulker and crash cutter before. So, I'm new to the slow and steady. But I did good on my last bulk adding mass where I wanted it without getting fat. Now trying to get the summer cut right.

Track what you are eating to find your maintenance. Go into a 300 or so calorie deficit by setting appropriate macros and follow for a week or 10 days. Assess and adjust as or if needed. Don't make it harder than it needs to be.

That's essentially what I do. But on occasion like I said in my post. The weight loss accelerates. Worried about metabolism slowing down or losing muscle from being in too large of a deficit. It probably has to do with my work and that my calorie expenditure can vary quite a bit.

Weigh yourself every day and take the avg for the week to minimize outliers. If you are dropping weight too fast you increase calories. If not fast enough, you lower them. Get a step counter to see how much you are getting at work. You are looking at the leaves when it's the forest that matters. Lift hard, sleep and relax.

Fat loss isn't linear. Sometimes it will stick for a week or 2 and you'll get a big drop.
