how much weight is a respectable squat?

deff. considered respectable. but i think that is can be a subjective topic since there are so many variables such as age, weight, gender, reps, etc. My wife can squat 235 for 8 reps x2 which i think is pretty respectable for a women who is 145lbs.

thats real good for a woman of her size. im 5'8 215

IMO anything over 2xs bw for squat and dl. I consider 3xs bw a great squat or dl. For bench 1.5 xs bw is respectable and 2xs + is great.

as per its rules and discover the max to min range of weight. generally 3xs bw is best weight now a days.

I doubt my knees will ever let me get 600+ but I will be at 400+ before long. My dl sucks and bench is 275 but getting better. This is a slow process

I suggest looking into knee sleeves. I'm just a few years younger than you and started lifting 3-4 years ago, before that I was a runner so my knees have taken a beating over the years. As soon as I get to 315 I pull up the sleeves. I bought them from Inzer and they have straps on them so you can tighten them if you want. I don't think it really ads weight to my squat but my knees appreciate it after a squat session. My max is in the mid-400's and I'm shooting for 500 by the end of the year.

I use wraps they help. I've done 405 once and will be there for reps before long. I start wrapping at 225.

Any 2x bodyweight squats to me.

but honestly I respect anyone just squating and going atg, I've seen bros load up 405 and get 8 reps but only go down a few inches lol.

I can get 405x6 atg naturally at the moment, but when Im on gear it goes up pretty significantly. Havent been on since early december.

I can only get to 185lbs before my left knee (w/ no ACL) tries to shift out of place :(

I end up doing high repetitions with very little weight while the fit little lifting ladies laugh. But I know what I'm challenged with so I still consider it respectable. Someday I'll be able to get it repaired and I'll be glad I did my best to keep it as strong as I could and somewhat stable

everyone is in there own place, so to me, doing squats is respectable no matter the weight... No skipping leg day

Definitely respectable, considering you can squat hundreds of pounds more than 99.9% of our lazy population.

I respect everybody who squats, nice job brother

Very good point. I posted what is respectable for me to do. I am careful not yo judge the squats if others, who knows what injuries they may be dealing with. My one r caption us idiots trying yo move way more weight than they can telly handle putting themselves at serious of injury.

Anyone sinking 365 and up get's my attention. So, if you're sinking them, you are well on your way to a good squat. However, I've known freaks that squat 600 at a 220 body weight. But you and I aren't in that group, and 365 is a good base. The key is the form and breaking parallel. Anything else is not a squat. Keep squatin!

I'm 44 been lifting 2-1/2 yrs. I'm up to 365 7-8 reps down to a bucket. I think that's not bad. Lets see what everyone else thinks and does.

I think that's a very respectable number. I'm 29 and I don't go above 315 but would love to when I'm 44. Good stuff, keep up the hard pressing.

In the military u only see people with chests so again respect to all who squat. I loose all of my lifting partners on leg day lol. Go Johnny Bravo.

Well, as some of you know I have half a left leg made from titanium. My squats suck ass. I can load up 315 for a few reps but they are only partial range. I can pull 420 from the ground though. Not bad for currently weighing in at 170lbs. But If I had an answer:

For men:

Squat: At least 2x body weight
DL: At least 2x body weight
Bench: 1.5x bodyweight
Barbell shoulder press: Many men dont do enough of this in my opinion. I can do 190. 20 pounds over body weight. Not bragging by any means. But whats the point in picking something up if you cant lift it above your head? I feel any man should shoot for at least body weight mil presses.

As for women:

Who cares. Squat ass to grass with as much weight as possible to get that ass lookin' RIIIIIIGGHHHHHTTTTTTT!!!!!
