We do at a local October festival. My speed demon....Kyser on the right side of the photo....has won it numerous times.

Yes I have. They are so comical when they run because of their short legs.

WE lost our last dog a few years ago and we have been enjoying the freedom to travel. But we also acknowledge that a house without a dog is not a home. We will get one in the next six months I should think. Probably start with a Jack Russell. I know, I know....:LOL:
Our last one went 20 years so that definitely appeals to me.

When we travel we seek out dogs to scratch, pet, etc.

There were two dogs at the game lodge we stayed at in South Africa. This one came every morning and hung out with us whenever we were home. I would have figured out how to take him back with us if the owner would have let us.

Hippie greyhounds, like Salukis. I am a huge lover of the sighthound shape. My preferred dogs are Italian Greyhounds. I have had four and they were simply fantastic dogs. Not for cold weather climates though.

We are considering Tennessee lately. If we get acreage, we will get two Boerbols to run the property and some IGs for an incredible contrast.

Boerboels are my favorite breed. Have yet to own one. Love those dogs.

Not into the big slobbering breeds but those are truly amazing.
My wife tells a story of growing up in South Africa.
Her friend had several of them and when they would go onto the compound, they would come running. The owner had parked a Bakkie (pickup) halfway through the yard so people could jump up on the bed until the owner told the dogs to chill. She said one used to come running with an African Grey parrot riding on its neck like a cowboy.
Too bad phones and video didn't really exist back then. That shit would be funny as hell.

Boerbols are known for just sitting and waiting/hiding when they see someone coming into their "zone". They sit silently, calculating the point of no return for the invader, then attack. I have heard that they don't even bark. Just straight to murder.

I got this wolf hybrid. He goes everywhere with me. Better not fuck around or this 100lb boy will tear you apart. I take him with me to completely inappropriate places and make a big stink when people confront me about it. He has kept me alive through end stage cancer... for seven years.

We haven't had a dog in a couple years since losing my olde English bulldog. Longest I've been without a dog in my life.

I love the bull breeds but most are a lot of dog for a busy family so we've compromised on a French bulldog lol. Just won't allow spending 3-5k or more on one.

I'll wear my wife down on another olde English eventually. Maybe the next will be a lazy couch potato. My boy would go all day if he didn't overheat in this heat

He was a pretty pup

Wife and I made the mistake of going to an adoption event at facility owned by one of our friends..Came home w this..the ears look like they belong to another dog...lol..She's unfortunately hw positive..Already started her on treatment..

MY wife would give me absolute shit if she saw this!
I can't speak a word of Afrikaans without some form of castigation for my pronounciation. The Mexicans just role with my Spanish...ohhhh, but not my wife.
