Mine is a rescue as well. Got him at 5 months old from an abused litter. Supposed to be full Catahoula but I think there's some Border Collie in there too. Even at almost 12 just won't stop. I have to watch him and make him stop or he'd run himself to death. Lost my red nose/lab a few months back. Still mourning over that. She was a daddys girl for sure.

Hog the bed? Never. He graciously allows us to sleep on any remaining portions of the bed that he isnt currently occupying. One funny thing about Shih Tzu's is that they have no concept of personal space. If your head is in a location that he wants to be, not a problem. He'll just walk on you and sleep on your face.

We currently have two Shar Pei/Pit Bull mixes but this is my old Pit Bull. Counting the current two we've had eight dogs over the years but this one was the most loyal and devoted dog that I've ever had. My wife said that when I would go out that she would lay by the front door and huff and sigh for hours until I came home. When she started getting old and a bit senile she would forget that I went out and would search through every room in the house looking for me (including the bathrooms). She's been gone almost three years now and I still miss her.
