This is my first post, as I haven't needed any advice as of late, but this issue is way out of my wheelhouse, I've never been in this situation before.

I was mid-cycle of test cyp and EQ (it was a low dose of 250/250 per week, I respond well to lower doses so I didn't need a big dose) and had just gotten to week 8, where my gains were taking off like a rocket and strength went up FAST. That's when a repeat offender spinal disc (L5-S1, sciatic canal) flared up for the 7th time in the last year and a half, but this time was extreme, where now I lost half the function and feeling of my left leg. I'm going to have surgery, I just don't know when - a minimum of 2 months from now. In the meantime I can't go to the gym, and I've aborted my cycle because I don't want to waste the juice or lose more hair unnecessarily.

I'm normally on TRT so I just went back to my normal dose +20%. I've worked so hard for these gains, and I was turning heads.. and now after 2 months of this, I'm visibly atrophying, as even walking has to be limited significantly (with a crutch of course, my leg buckles). Does anyone have any experience with using any AAS to prevent muscle wasting during an injury? I know the corticosteroids they keep putting me on are highly catabolic (3 courses of Prednisone, epidurals, etc). The only medical studies I found involve giving Deca to ICU patients who were all elderly, and testosterone in rare cases with men.

I was thinking EQ, because I really love the stuff for a cycle, but I don't know if it's strong enough to prevent muscle wasting. Deca maybe? I've avoided Deca as I'm on finasteride for hair loss and I've heard it can make Deca even worse for hair due to preventing the Deca from converting to it's less androgenic form. And if nandrolone, what works best, Deca, npp, or both together? I am all ears, as I've never needed surgery before, and I'm only 33, and I really don't want to lose all of that hard work...

My personal opinion. I would just take your normal TRT dosage throughout this period of healing. You will muscle mass regardless of what you take with no stimulus activating the muscle, so why put added strain on your organs, blood pressure, etc with anabolics? Save the gear for when you are healthy and back crushing it! Your receptors will be fresh and muscle memory along with gear is just nutty. Be patient.

Have they found any arthritis in the area of the injury?
There is mild arthritis. They said it's what would be expected for a person who works labor and working out, nothing to be concerned about. The L4-L5 disc apparently had a bad injury at some point in my adult life, according to the specialist, but it's already healed and I don't have symptoms from that one.

I would recommend Cats Claw herbal tincture.
Despite what the medical mafia says, arthritis comes from food-bourne bacteria that eat away at connective tissue. Cats Claw destroys it but you need to take it daily for up to a year depending on the degree of the arthritis.
Cats Claw to solve the problem, BPC157 to repair the damage.

At 33, this is my first encounter with having to deal with this... And it's a nightmare. Insurance companies and doctors (HMO, so same thing) are all kicking the can down the road. Ive already lost (collectively) 5 months of work out of a 12 month period. Hell, I got a call today saying they want to delay it again to see what happens and that's when I lost it.

With trt and with cycling, I always change the injection site each time between left/right and quads/glutes. If I use multiple compounds, they're injected separately. I've never drawn multiple compounds into one syringe, nor do I know how to safely. But if there are multiple compounds I'm using, it would be a godsend to be able to inject less frequently in one site.

Honestly, the mild arthritis is not bothering me at all. I will address that after I have the back surgery. I'm most concerned with keeping as much muscle as I can while I'm inactive right now, that way when I get back to it it's not as severe, and I'm not as at risk for a back injury again. My nutrition, sleep, and vitamins are dialed in (I've made it my full time job to get well ASAP) and I'm familiar with most anabolics though I've only used 6 or so in my lifetime, and each time I used one, it was a serious consideration with plenty of studying before dedicating myself to the cycle, or to my TRT.

Test and primo. Primo is esp good for preventing muscle wasting and boosts the immune respose (healing).

Thank you for replying, I was hoping to hear from someone who had similar issues.

Unfortunately, I know time is what I need.. and me being impatient and wanting to work out since I had no pain, may have contributed to this extreme flare-up needing surgery...

I unfortunately know about the time thing... Hell, im even quitting nicotine vaping because studies show it significantly slows down disc healing. Diet is dialed in, supplements, rest, and my movement is limited. Time is the biggest issue, because the docs kept kicking the can down the road, and now I've missed so much work in the last year that it's a razors edge to financial catastrophe. I need to get back to work asap...

My issue, and your injury are quite different.. but were there any standout compounds that seemed to help significantly more than others, in the areas of muscle atrophy and/or healing?

Thanks for this info. It will be saved in my black book for when it's needed!

Brother, there is a thread that I made going back probably a year ago or so.
I had a pre-existing injury unbeknownst to myself on the severity of it since my football days back when I was a tailback.
Not much talent, just a power back. And I recall my back was not doing well and during that period of time in my life I also did something stupid with some friends of mine, we lift it up a car and immediately my back did not feel good.
Fast forward time, it would hurt on occasions and I knew something was wrong. I brushed it off and I thought it was just pains from working hard.
Many many years ago like a long time ago I even had an x-ray on my back and they found nothing.

Fast forward time, not this past December but the one prior to that I got covid pretty bad, because of covid it amplified a lot of pre-existing injuries especially ones that were dormant for decades.
I was in the middle of a very hard push and we made a lot of progress. It was cut short.
My back has never been the same since. Fast forward time, this past August I made an attempt to get back into the gym and my back did not feel right, I knew something was wrong.
So off to the orthopedic I went, they sent me to a specialist for some X-rays in Long behold I had a pre-existing injury all along. "Spondylolisthesis".
During my hard manual labor construction years I just pushed through it not realizing I actually had an injury. There was scar tissue where you can see a break and things were pretty banged up man.
Here I am today and I'm making my return back to the gym this week.
Since I've been off because of covid and the residuals that covid left behind with some injuries, this is the first time ever that my back has felt normal.

During my life I have taken many different things some things helped like a Band-Aid some things didn't in the end the best thing for it was therapy, stretching working on mobility and rest and recovery. Long as you are using it in this lifestyle in my opinion there's not a single thing that you can take that's going to make it better.

Time off and recovery that's just my take..
