What blood panel did you order for her testing? I get a little twisted up trying to determined which one to actually order

Hey, that's quite a jump from 10mg/week! I can see why she's a bit freaked out. My wife's on a similar journey, and it's definitely a balancing act. Before she started, her test levels were super low, like around 8. Now she is taking 15-20mg a week and her total test is in the 200s. Another user mentioned his wife is on 10mg/week and her test level is 83, but she also has PCOS, which can affect things.

It sounds like you're doing the right thing by monitoring and being cautious. Maybe you could dial back the dosage a little and see if that helps bring her levels down to a sweet spot where she feels good without the unwanted side effects? It might take some experimenting to find what works best for her.
 
just start low and go from there. My wife has bloods coming up and we will see if she wants to or needs to go up
 
15mg/week subq injections test c. Previous was Test total 20 free 1.1. Now 6 weeks later now 380 and 6.8. Other markers are good. 38, 5'2" about 100lbs

My gf was on 8mgs of cyp/wk dosed 4mg e3.5d. Her levels came back at 221. She freaked out as well, but had no virulization. She was feeling kind of shitty though and had some acne.

We switched her to 1mgs of test prop ED. She feels much better and acne completely cleared. Have yet to check her levels. A lot of women do well with higher than reference range testosterone, but it’s 100% side effect dependent.

Did you pull bloods in the trough of her test levels?
 
Mine came back at 121ng/dl 2 months ago on 18mg of Test Cypionate injection 1x weekly subQ. I feel great-husband and I am happy and there is no noticeable virulization. I’m looking for a new reliable source now though.

6mg 2x/week & she is a little over 200 at 52yrs old.
I personally would split the dose in half & pin 2x a week instead of 1x per week to level peaks & lows, just my opinion.
 
Does any wife go to a clinic for trt? What did they prescribe for estrogen balance ie ph levels to reduce uti and shit

My Dr has me on 1mg Estradiol tables and 100mg progesterone pills, 10mg T (2 dose a week) as well as 10 mcg vagifem inserts for the UTI's.

I’m on a 0.75 mcg estradiol patch which I apply 2x weekly and estriol cream to the vagina EOD. My family doctor gave the rx for the patch and I order the cream from an offshore pharmacy. These are both for MHT. I don’t use progesterone because I do not have a uterus. 56 y/o female 5’1 & 108 pounds.

My wife is with at TRT cliinic for 25mg bottle of Cyp. She takes 3.75 M and 3.75 on Thurs. She gets her estrogen from her PCP. The test has really been the key to her estrogen. She feels much better and I can say she is calmer and pleasant again. The sex drive is a plus. No side effects at all.

Will be 51 and has been at HRT clinic for over a year now. Meds are killing us financially as they only use compound meds, injectables or patches. Looking for better results and meds.

Currently on;
T3-T4 45-150 MCG "IR" Compound Thyroid
Estradiol 0.75 MG LF
Testosterone 7.5 MG IR DF LF
Progesterone 300 MG SR
 
Yeah the HRT clinics are expensive. Check out SB Labs, he has a female section. Ask him for a list, no website. I don’t think he carries progesterone but everything else he’s got. If this answers your questions.

The E and P I get RX'd from my doctor. 1mg pill for E and 100 mg P. Insurance covers most of that. Good RX also could help.
 
My wife (39f) is feeling GREAT on 1 month of test cyp @ 15mg-20mg/week. She’s usually in a great mood but even the HELL DAYS of her cycle didn’t kill her mood this month. And her libido is off the charts. JFC.

Blood being pulled next week to check numbers. Will report back.

I think @SB Labs is making a 50mg/ml Test Cyp for his Female menu. One of their reps told me it was likely on the way soon. As soon as that drops, they’ll be seeing an order from me.

We’d order some of that too! Wife likes the cyp more than prop (and she’s using my script cyp atm) and would like the 50mg/ml for easier dosing at low levels.

@McPriimate - My script has the estrogen blocker cooked in. I read that’s not ideal for women. (We are absolutely not experts in this.) So I ordered some SB Labs 250mg/ml without the blocker cooked in.

Does your script have it cooked in? If yes, has she responded okay with it?

Mine does not - just test cyp 200mg/ml

Definitely would avoid any with an AI included for a woman (or even a guy until you know how much ai you need, if any)

Don’t give your wife the baked in test with AI. That will throw her off bad. I wouldn’t even recommend that for men. Buy your wife some of SB women’s test at 50mg/ml. Then get some 29g insulin syringes from amazon, easy touch. Start her off at a conservative dose. Conservative is less than .1 on the syringe. Remember, at 50mg/ml, each .1 on the syringe is 5mg. I would start low and you can titrate up later.
 
Ok. Got wife’s bloodwork back today. For reference, she is 39 years old, 5’7” and weighs 142. She’s in good shape. Excersize is mostly walking/rucking 10,000 steps per day. With moderate EOD lifting.

We took her blood on the 3rd day of her period. She’s been taking 15mg Test Cyp weekly for 4-5 weeks. Other than that, no changes. She’s been dieting - lost about 4lbs in the last 60 days.

Mostly positive with a few serious concerns.

Testosterone - 119ng/dl. For how good she WAS feeling, I think that’s a solid number.

Estrogen - 12pg/mL. Some concerns here. We aren’t entirely sure why her estrogen would be low.

TSH - 5.03uIU/mL. Serious concern here. She’s been feeling tired in the last (2) weeks. Very tired. So this seems to be new.

Considering discontinuing the testosterone as that’s the only thing we’ve changed but she initially felt GREAT on it. Not sure what to do.

Any insight?
 
Is she on estrogen as well, from her MD? If not, it might be low due to potential pre menopausal symptoms. You mentioned she has periods still.

Is she on other medications?
That is a solid number for test especially if she is feeling good. Can I ask, are you giving her the testosterone or is she getting this from her medical doctor? In other words, did she have low test symptoms and her doctor prescribed her test?

Thyroid is typically something that many women deal with especially pre-menopausal. She’s right at the age where hormonal shifts can aggravate thyroid dysfunction.

Her MD should look into that and treat it as necessary.

She is not on estrogen and she was not prescribed Testosterone. We did some reading and it seems like the benefits were positive - even in pre-menopausal women. So we went rogue.

She didn’t really have “symptoms” before but she was looking for better energy specifically for better workouts, better mood and better libido.

Other medications:
Birth control
Adderall (30mg daily - 20XR + 10IR)

The last time her TSH was tested was in 2021 and it was in perfect range. She’s signed up for Rythm now and we’ll be testing her monthly.
 
There’s the issue for low e2. Taking birth control lowers women’s natural estrogen levels. The adderal will also disrupt her thyroid as well. Taking more to offset the thyroid issues is not the answer. It only make it worse.

I would have her communicate these to her MD. Have the MD send her to an endocrinologist for more Taylored plans. Because her PCP will flip out when you share that she is on test. It’s the boogie man to them. The endocrinologist will probably not respond that way. They will be better able to balance her. If she needs T4 and some T3. Sounds like she has hypothyroidism and it might be sue to adderall. But again, get a referral to an endocrinologist for clarity.

The only other thing I’ll add is that her T3 is perfect. T4 isn’t tested by Rythm but her last T4 was perfect in 2021 and she was taking adderall then, too.

Thanks for all the awesome feedback. We’re going to let it ride for one more month to see what next month’s bloodwork shows. If the TSH is still high and the estrogen still low, she’s going to make some doctor visits.

The onset of this seems a little sudden. That’s the only weird part about all this. She was feeling better than she’s ever felt 2 weeks ago. And then she crashed out. That’s the part we’re having a hard time figuring out. She was like….top of the entire world.

Silver lining is that she knows it’s possible to feel that good and she wants to figure this out.
 
Finally found a provider who will prescribe by wife her HRT with injectable. However, they started her out at 10mg Test cyp twice a week (which I think is a bit high). But her levels were in the tank. My wife has done 2 injections so far IM. Would it be better for her to do sub q injections?
