What’s the longest break from the gym you’ve ever taken?

Hey Viz!!! Missed u guys.
Lifes been crazy, just getting fat and stiff haahaaaaa.
Kiddos off to college so mamma needs to get it together
Hope the fam has been well. :D

Before march of last year , the last time I was in a gym was the day before hurricane Katrina ,don’t remember what year that was but it seemed like maybe 20 years , although I gained most my size back, I’m not nearly as strong as I was, I’m 45 now but back than I was benching 365-385 3 times , right now I can bang out 225 once or twice. I have a titanium plate in my wrist and 9 pins installed almost 2 years ago and never really recovered fully so I’m taking it easy. No more heavy deadlift or pressing for me but I’m still making decent progress . Muscle memory is the real deal

I'm at about four months right now. Life stuff has been distracting the fuck out of me. Ran outta gear early November and just said fuck that too. It hasn't seemed like a good time to have that shit floating around the mail. I feel OK, just smaller. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it though. I'll be back at it soon once things settle down and I'll probably replenish my gear supply... Honestly, it's been nice to see that I can be off the gear and haven't totally fallen apart. I was pretty worried about that.

The longest time i have been out ot the gym was for a month when i went on a vacation to Kenya. Other then vacation or for a week after a surgury i have not missed any time in the gym since 1988.

My break was about 20+ years. I mean zero gym.
Got fat, lazy, but been turning my ship around since last july/aug 2025
80 lbs later, I'm here. Been back for last month and change.

Glad. Got some goals, hoping to achieve before 60.
Key for me was not looking at the finish line, divide the road into small 5, 10 lb steps.
