Ooof! You'll get through it man! But yeah I agree I love high volume. I'm way more of an all-around athlete than I am a bodybuilder, and because my cardio conditioning is what it is I don't really hit systemic fatigue walls from resistance training sessions. It's honestly kinda awesome lol. And luckily my joints have held up so far, though I credit a lot for that to sticking almost entirely to dumbbell, kettlebell, and bodyweight resistance training and keeping reps on the higher side for each set. I generally shoot for 12-18ish reps per set, sometimes higher when I'm really focusing on technique or I'm going light for an active deload. Each person is gonna have their own program based on their goals but this is what works well for me at my age.Love the volume bro, that’s one hell of a session, can’t wait for my joints and body to fully recover from the crashed e, I like high volume my self. Not that I go as high as you anymore but I def prefer more volume, it’s more enjoyable too me, right now I’m just hitting a few heavy sets and a back off and moving on cuz my fucking joints hate me still, and recovery is fucked. Only doing 4 days a week rn too mostly. Just been tryna maintain and get a stimulus without feeling destroyed for the last few weeks. Last couple weeks been rough lol.

Haha yeah for sure man! For me it's been surfing, gravel cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, free diving, trail running, that kinda stuff. It's super cool to never hit that cardio wall when lifting cuz no resistance training session could possibly come close to the energy expenditure of a 100+ mile bike ride, but yeah definitely gotta remind myself not to overdo it. Just because I can keep going doesn't mean my joints and tendons agree lolHell yeah bro, I too more of an athlete, former fighter, combat sports. I love the grind, I can just go and go and go cuz I don’t ever have the cardio being the limiter, and my endurance allows me to be able to just keep going to the point I have to force my self and it’s from the 15 years of fighting and training like that for 2-3 hours a day and running etc lol. I had to learn to put a limit on my self. I use to do very very high volume, and would be in the gym for two hours grinding. I’ve dialed back a bit over the years tho.
But you right, everyone’s got their own style and what works for them, ain’t no right or wrong way, esp if you progressing and physique is showing improvement.![]()
