Did a little bit of legs this morning. I'm on vacation so somewhat limited, at the resort gym. I might just get up extra early and drive to an actual gym this week. Tempted to just do 3-4 full body workouts for the week and call it good. MWF or something like that.
First thing I do when planning vacation are my gym options. lol So I feel you!Did a little bit of legs this morning. I'm on vacation so somewhat limited, at the resort gym. Yeah i could do that also.First thing I do when planning vacation are my gym options. lol So I feel you!
What I like to do when I know I will be away for several days is add a ton of volume/intensity to my workouts about a week or two before pushing to where I need a couple of days, so during those few days on vacation I'm essentially deloading without having it nagging on me.![]()
It's all about volume/intensity at the end of the day. If you spread a 5 or 6 day split into 7 days, there really is no difference. The whole you NEED a day of rest for CNS from just hypertrophy training is overrated, especially in a surplus. You very rarely find someone who literally overtrains. If and when you NEED a day off, your body will certainly tell you so you take it then. It's when you don't listen to your body is when you get in trouble. Again, my opinion.Yeah i could do that also.
I dont know why I still have a problem with rest days and backing off. I always feel like I'm just being lazy. When I know for a fact thats when all the good growing is happening lol.
Thats kind of always been my approach as well. You'll definitely know when you NEED one. When that usually happens it turns into 2 days off for me.It's all about volume/intensity at the end of the day. If you spread a 5 or 6 day split into 7 days, there really is no difference. Rest day going to enjoy the resort some. Possibly some tennis with the wife later.
