Whats up guys,

My name is Mike, here in Orlando, FL. Looks like I'm finally taking the plunge....and thats why I'm here.

I'm 32 years old....been lifting for about 14 years.....mostly traditional body building, but I've been through every methodology under the sun. Never used any gear....or have any knowledge about it (other than "gear" is the proper slang term....which I just learned like 5 minutes ago, lol). I'm a little dude, 5'8" 170lbs....and genetically scrawny as hell, but with years and years of just pounding the weights I've built up some pretty decent size and strength. My bench is about 275, Squat about 350, deadlift about 425ish....so, not bad for my size. My proudest gym moment is putting up the 115lb dumbells 10 times as the dude next to me looked at me like I was out of my mind when I went and picked 'em up....since i probably dont look like I could even touch those.

I've gotten into crossfit over the past year....and I've been splitting my time between the gym, and crossfit. (there seems to be a ton of hate on these types of boards when it comes to crossfit....I dont know why, I think its fun and challenging as hell. - and its been a freaking bitch trying to learn how to clean and jerk, and snatch properly at 32 years old - and its kinda nice to suck and something and be a beginner again). Thinking about doing my first competition next month.

My diet is pretty flawless. Tons of raw veggies, organic meats, only ezekial breads, eggs.....some vegan cooking for fun, but I keep my protein up. I"m usually about 2400 calories a day.

Other than that, I'm an RN in the Intensive Care Unit here at my local hospital. To that point, I have pretty good medical knowledge, and I'm obviously very familiar with medication administration and such.

My goals are, a bit more strength....mainly get my front squat up, so I can increase my cleans and and stuff a bit more. I'm not really into a ton of size....since I dont want to loose anymore shoulder flexibility (its been a bitch getting that back over the past year), but of course a little size would be cool. Next, I jacked my left rotator cuff about 6 months ago doing bar muscle ups....so something that would help with healing would be nice. Finally, getting my head in the game would be great....the older I get, the more I seem to loose a little bit of that aggression I had in my early 20's. I would love to be mental monster if I do this competition.

Some stuff I've been thinking about:

Maybe a 6 month HGH cycle to help with building strength, and healing the shoulder.....plus feeling a little fresher in general would be great. That and I'm super curious about the stuff.

Maybe an 12 week Eq cycle with an A.I. and some solid PCT. - figured this would good for a little strength, increase VO2 max, endurance, and a little mental spunk.

Maybe an 12 week anavar cycle with some PCT. Just seemed easy, and simple....and just enough for that little edge I'm looking for.

Whatever route I go, I'm more so looking for permanent gains......if they come slow, thats fine. I've love the gym, and I'm not in a rush.

But honestly, I dont know shit about this stuff.....I've just been doing online research. And there is so much confusing info I've run into....and ton of message board hate and bullshit. So I've come here for some wisdom...and some community, and cause of all the boards I've read, this one seemed to be the most legit and communal.

Brother I reread your post and the way I figure it is you deserve a much better indri suction from me rather than just saying welcome to the board :)

So like I said welcome to ASF brother! You're absolutely right about this board; it is very different than some other similar boards. ASF and the guys and girls that contribute are stand up people. Dedicated and knowledgable in every field. You have found a great home here brother.

I'll be honest with you. Your proposed cycles are jacked-up and I suggest you scratch it all. What you need is a solid plan and how you do that is with information. There's no better place to find that information than right here. For starters, run test with any cycle. I'm not a talking puppet when I suggest this to you... Testosterone should always be your base for anything that you do. With the exception of very low doses of Anavar I don't know of a single steroid that won't shut your natural testosterone production down. What does that mean? That means side effects, total lose of libido, loss of energy, loss of muscle mass, lethargic, and most of all run-down. Getting to the gym while experiencing any of those side effects would be a project in itself. Adding synthetic Testosterone will also shut your natural production of testosterone down and that is why a solid PCT should be given the utmost respect and planning when considering AAS.

I'd suggest upping your daily calories as well. It seems as if your eating enough to maintain body weight. By upping your calories you'll turn your body into and anabolic machine. Food is and always will be the most anabolic substance you can put in your body. When you add hypertrophy, nutrition, and sleep you create an anabolic effect. However most will make the common mistake in thinking going from 2500 to 5000 in a weeks time is the answer. It's not and you should refrain from doing so IMO. The body needs time to gradually understand the difference. I suggest upping your Cal's by 500 every 2 or 3 weeks and allow your body to get familiar with the extra food. Uping Cal's too fast will most likely give your body the reason to turn if into fat. Remember calories are great but it's where those Cal's are coming from that are important. Don't get me wrong... I know plenty of guys that are on strict diets that allow a certain number of Cal's per week but every once in a while shock there body with a massive amount of food. That's a great way to keep your body guessing; hence keeping your body growing ;)

I'd drop the HGH idea and spend the next year reading everything you can get your hands on. Learn what it is. How it works. The do's and donts... Learn everything. HGH is expensive and for that reason sometimes faked. Stick around the board and ask questions brother. Learn, read and repeat. There are solid sources on this board that strive for perfection in every area of the operation. They can make your goals come true but not having the knowledge of different AAS is something that will hold you back. Solid nutrition, solid training, sleep, then gear.

JJ - thanks for the awesome reply man. I appreciate the effort you put into that. I figured no one was going to like my cycle ideas, lol....but thats why I'm here. I agree, with you......solid training, solid diet, solid sleep is where its at. I feel like I've made hella progress over the past decade with just that.....which is why i never thought gear was necessary.....but I've gotten a bug up my ass as of late and now looking at the edge of the rabbit hole thinking about jumping in.

Seems like "test should be the base of any cycle" is the common consensus that I read. And I'm cool with that.....especially if making test a part of my cycle means doing this right and not ending up limp, weak and depressed after a cycle. That rabbit hole I'm definitely not interested in. Like I said, my goal isn't to get totally huge and jacked.....its more to take my strength, athleticism, power and head game to the next level.....and if you guys say that test is a part of that.....then I'll have faith in that.

I've actually nixed the anavar idea as of today after reading about var-pump and how it really makes cross-training suffer. And ya, the HGH is a flipping fortune....so maybe I"ll wait on that. So right now I'm kinda of leaning towards an Eq cycle maybe with a test base, an AI, and PCT.....but I'll wait to lock all those details for once I get my PM privledges and I can talk to you guys via PM and get some solid recommendations. I'm definitely here for expert knowledge.....so I'm not going to resist it and do things my way.....I'll trust. I'll continue to read and research. Waiting a year might be a little stretch though, lol =)
