So I've been noticing some mild acne on TRT.. odd spots on occasion like the thigh, scalp, back of neck just under the hairline. It is mild but i'm a nervous Nelly. Is this pretty normal considering my dose 200mg/week?

Soap and water works fine but it seems like once one is gone another appears.

How long have you been on trt? Once your levels stabilize, that should go away.

If you been on a while, try doing 2 shots of 100 each on mon /Thurs to help keep it level.

Could be a soap/shampoo issue, or hygiene if you sweat a ton, etc.

It happens to me also. I hate it.
My estrogen looks good.

i have tried every otc acne cream , soap etc... no luck
Might have to get some accutane.

Yeah I've only noticed it since moving from 100mg to 200mg. I've been on 200 for 5 injections now and I've been better about washing/scrubbing problem areas after a workout. I.e. back, face, etc

Isoretinoin works great for me but I only use it when really necessary as it can be harsh also.

Some guys actually break out more when doing this, but if E2 levels are a concern, try it out.

I get them too,mostly on back,some end up being monsters.It sucks ...

Did you just start TRT? or have you been on a while? The acne is often due to the change in test and sometimes E levels, once you have been on for a while it often subsides. That being said 200MG is usually on the high end for TRT, usually only get that kind of dose from a clinic and not a gen prac doc or endo and its iften just to get you hooked, invariably they cut the dose back on you after some time.

A few months, just 1 month at 200mg. I go to a top urologist of the dc area.

like others said it will probably settle down after a while.
In the meantime get a brush with a long handle and scrub every inch you can reach twice a day with neutragena soap.
Apply the OTC cream at night before bed.
Helps a lot.

Its normal. I broke out some when I first started but it settled down after a few months(hardly any now). Now the increase in back hair? That still grows like weeds! LMAO

LOL I have noticed the backhair already... for years i had one weird patch of hair on my lower lats and now it seems like the other side is starting to come in

so that's it? this thread is gonna die? already? no one even said how long they have been on trt hardly, when and where the acne was, started or stopped?

i guess i was hoping the synopsis would be that it goes away after a while. i'm 45 and realize now that trt is inevitable for me by time i am 50 but the acne is getting on my face. i could care less about my back at this point.

Acne is a result by and large of fluctuating hormones. There are no rules as to how long it will last, where it develops or how bad it will be. Generally speaking however its transitory and will go away in a few weeks to a few months as your acclimate to the new hormones in your system.....as long as your trt dose isnt too high.

Any changes in dosing and for some even missed doses can cause a minor acne flareup. Doubling dose from 100 to 200mg a week would certainly cause a little flareup for most folks.

I started using apple cider vineger and it seems to help. I also just yesterday started using Dawn antibacterial dish soap after reading up on it.

I am on 125 mg week, I notice that if I slack off on my AI (Its a cream and I dont like applying it so much) I get what the girls used to call "whore bumps", like hard pimples under the skin. usually gone within a day of hitting the AI again. In my experience it seems to be E2 related. I'm 45, been on DR. supervised TRT for 3 years, and 200 mg week seems high for a trt dose. I have found that for me more is not always better, and blood work is a must. And watch your hematocrit levels at that dose, plan on regular Red Cross visits.
