Not "drink water and do bloodwork".

I mean the REAL things you only understand after you've actually been through it a few times.

Like:

👉 More gear doesn't always mean better physique
👉 Some compounds sound amazing on forums... then disappoint hard in real life
👉 The mental side of coming off can hit harder than the physical
👉 Strength gains and actual physique gains are NOT the same thing
👉 Chasing scale weight usually ends badly
👉 Sleep, stress and digestion can make or break an entire cycle
👉 The guys who stay in shape year-round usually run less than people think
👉 Half the "monster cycles" online are complete bullshit

And probably the biggest one:

You stop caring about "what’s strongest"
and start caring about what you can actually recover from and maintain long term.

That shift changes everything.

A lot of people enter this game thinking gear is the shortcut.
After a few cycles, you realize the real battle is managing your body, health, mindset and expectations over YEARS.

That's the stuff nobody teaches beginners.

So let's hear the real answers from experienced guys only:

💬 What's something you ONLY understood after several cycles?

What belief did you have early on that turned out completely wrong?

Drop the kind of advice you wish someone drilled into your head years ago 👇

How many of you regret your first blast?
Not because of the sides...
but because you realize now you probably could've gotten better results with half the gear

I don’t regret it because the results were amazing. Now with that’s said we are talking 37 years ago and today’s knowledge did not exist. Gym guys and Dan Duchains steroids hand book is all we had. I ran 500mg sust 250 with the ready inject horse needles. I gained about 15 pounds and strength went through the roof. For the past decade I don’t run anything over 300. I do agree to start with little as possible bus a much better plan.

I swear every experienced guy has at least ONE cycle they never want beginners copying

Some things...

You will never look or make the gains you truly want. Expectations need to be grounded and realistic. People with avg genetics go in thinking they will look like Chris Bumstead after 12 weeks of a test cycle.

If you don't have training, nutrition, recover and consistency dialed in. You don't cycle.

If you can't make gains off cycle, you don't cycle.

STOP OVERTHING. You don't need 4 compounds at once.

Use tried and true compounds. Guys continually want to reinvent the week with obscure compounds when the basics are what get you gains.

Don't add a ton of calories from the start of a cycle. It takes weeks for some compounds to saturate like Test E/C, Deca, EQ.

Track your food intake. Don't use a cycle as an excuse to eat like crap and have a ton of cheat meals, you keep treat it like a prep.

Don't cycle longer than you should. A 30-week cycle is not the best idea.

Get at least close to your genetic limit naturally. Why? Because you will keep most of that muscle when you discontinue gear. Guys who jump on early go right back to their baseline.

Know what the hell the risks are with each compound and monitor sides. NOT just physical, but mental. If you feel anxious or depressed, get the hell off.

Don't use more of a dose than needed. The lowest most efficient dose for your goal. You increase ONLY when needed.

Find a trusted source and stay with that source. Do not jump around trying a new UGL because something is on sale. That's how you get bunk gear.

Use a UGL that POSTS labs and has a track record of people posting blood work. Never use something without that.

If you need help, hire a damn coach.

Don't change your training during the cycle. Progressive overload on the same exercises and track.

Intensity during training. Nobody is overtraining as long as you listen to your body.

I could go on and on...

You hit the nail on the head with your first post. The first 10 years I didn't use more than 300 mg/w. Sometimes it was one drug at a time. A few of them it was really replacement dosed looking back but anabolics are incredible drugs. One deca a week and 15-20 mg/d dianabol put 25 lbs on me and my bench went up 50 lbs. Everyone is a little different. I responded so well back then 30 mg of Stroma a day solo was insane gains. I had to back off to 20 mg/d. I always went on and off and recovered between cycles well into my 50s. I credit that one old school approach to why most of my old crew juicers are still healthy today. It was commonplace back then. Over the decades I went completely of for 1, 3 and 10 years at a time but never ever stopped working out. I think grappling martial arts helped me recover.

Today compared to then, there are so many tools and so many ways to do this better. A few points
  1. Everyone can get blood work on the regular.
  2. Follow your health markers.
  3. Follow your BP and heart rate regularly.
  4. Don't be afraid to adjust things to keep it in check.
  5. Do your cardio.
  6. Adjust behavior and your dosages rather than throwing more drugs to control side effects.
  7. The few exceptions are BP meds, Cialis and Viagra.
  8. Always plan health phases.
  9. Put cycling back into your vocabulary.
  10. Blast and cruise is not as productive as you might think.
