Who here has ever collected unemployment from termination from an “at will” or “right to work” state? (I can’t remember what my state is…. Or what it even means)

I got fired once when I was real young for threatening to throw a computer through a window and then roasting my tires in my s-10 on my lunch break. 5 working business days later a different departments supervisor fired me for that specific offense.

I collected like $200 a week for maybe 3 weeks on unemployment before finding better work.

It depends, if you’re in a no fault state they can fire you for almost any reason. I’d find a lawyer in your state who specializes in this field and see if he’ll do a free 1 hour consultation. All we’d be doing is speculating. In the meantime you need to log every incident where you felt he’s targeted you. The when and how. Unfortunately, your first step should have been to notify hr that you feel you’re being targeted. At this point, when terminated, you have no documentation of you trying to work with hr to resolve this and will most likely be looked at as being retaliatory. But, again, consult a lawyer.

"At will" means you can be terminated without reason. 100% truth. And there aint shit you can do about it. Even if its wrongful ( even if you can prove it ) I've known a lot of guys getting shitcanned because of petty BS. Thats why I no longer work for "The man"
Also unemployment in this state is only $345 a week maximum benefit... It dosn't matter if you were making 250k a year either.

Ohhh, that explains everything. Yes the UAW is the most corrupt bunch there is, followed closely by the Teamsters.

I was IBEW and there were guys who took clearances from the hall that never made it to the job site before I fired them.

The guys who showed up and worked hard on my jobs made serious money and all the OT they could stand.

I think we max out at $480/week but it is on a scale per tax bracket… or salary/wage… I can’t remember.
