I am needing a single level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. Im afraid it's going to kill my gains. Does anyone know someone who was able to get back to the gym quick and how did it go

My mom has had that done twice. First was her entire cervical spine the second was her entire thoracic spine.

took her about a full year for each to feel back to her old self but she also wasn’t very active at the time (was a huge fitness person when I was a kid) so take this all with a grain of salt.

Doc’s tend to be super conservative with recovery timelines though (they told her it would be at least 2 years to be completely “healed”).

They are telling me like 4 to 6 months. Im 43 and I am pretty jacked. Im afraid im going to loose it and not be able to gain it back do to my age

Take whatever time is necessary. I wouldn't rush it. You'll bounce back if you allow yourself to fully heal.

Not saying it'll be the case, but would you rather heal and get back to 90-95% of where you are now or rush back and make it worse? And potentially never get back

To be where im at now took years. Me being bed ridden for 6 months. My age im not sure if can start from square 1 again. But I guess we will see

4-6 months reasonable. If you are in great shape closer to 4-6 months, if not you are looking at 6-10 months. Diet, PT, GH, BPC and as much cardio (arm bike or whatever gets your heart rate up) is the best you can. Also find a very good surgeon.

Obviously, it's all individual but from the few people I know who have been through it. That's what I've seen.
