I’m planning on snowbirding in Arizona this winter (November–March) and looking for some guidance from people who know the area.
I’m 65 and preparing to compete for the first time in July 2027, so finding a solid gym community and serious training environment is important to me.
I’ll be coming down with a van, Airstream, and motorcycle, so I’m looking for:
– RV-friendly places to stay long-term
– A quality gym (ideally bodybuilding-focused or at least well-equipped)
– A community of like-minded people who take training seriously
Open to any locations in Arizona, but Phoenix/Scottsdale area seems like a good starting point.
Any recommendations for areas, RV parks, or gyms would be greatly appreciated.

Are you opposed to New Mexico? I lived there for a while and I loved it very much. Utah is also a very beautiful state.

Regardless, the southwest is the best and you’ll love it.

PHX and Scottsdale parks are gonna be expensive. Look at the east valley like Mesa, Apache Junction, Queen Creek. Plenty of gym options near by. Red Mountain, EOS, LA Fitness, etc.

I love New Mexico and Utah been there several times I’ve got family that live in Durango, but I want to be able to ride my motorcycle. I will check out the weather in New Mexico.

Thank you I would assume any of all them gyms will be great gyms. I’ll start looking at long-term camping RV spots in that area.

I’ll be honest bro. The RV parks here can be a bit of assholes. They are a tight community and it takes time to get the people to accept newbs. You will prolly read that in many reviews. Great place to winter tho so I’d say great choice.

Lots of beautiful women in Scottsdale and ASU.

Any gym you're working out at there you'll be at full mast the entire time

What would be really perfect is to find someone that rents out part of their yard or a facility. I’m not keen on parks. I like privacy, but beggars can’t be choosers.
