Making this thread because search feature showed few year old threads, figured new products are on the market now. I had some A7 cone sleeves, 7mm thick neoprene and they were okay for moderate lifts, didn’t get much out of them aside from keeping the knees warm on bigger lifts however. I have shit knees and been lifting sleeveless for quite a while now (moved houses and lord knows where the sleeves went) I’ve been squatting 300-400+ regularly now as I’m trying to reach 500lbs and my knees are becoming an issue. Just ordered the A7 Rigor mortis hourglass sleeves which is their stiffest sleeve to date. Wonder if anyone uses this sleeve or for those who use knee sleeves in general what do y’all use, like, recommend? Will probably get wraps as well, just incase for maybe PR attempts depending how the sleeves play out, input on wraps would be helpful too.

Subbed in for this. I bought knee raps that worked good for me but I’m not pushin anywhere near that weight. I think there gym reaper or something. I like a sleeve better though. There more convinient.

Yeah I like sleeves all around for quad exercises, just having the knees warm plus the support is nice. Will be trying wraps soon as I get up in weight.

That would be awesome if I can hit 400+ pain free
well when I was younger I could. Im much weaker now, but idk that i would want to go that heavy anymore anyway. its soo risky. id rather train a little more lightly, and be like 5% - 10% smaller, and continue working out for more consecutive days then get way up there and suffer an injury and be out for months.

I use Mark Bells Sling Shot brand, Strong Knee Sleeves. They work pretty damn well if you ask me. He’s also got Knee Wraps!
oh thats right i have their sling shot for the bench. that things pretty nifty.

I wish I had more input on the knee sleeves, but let’s see that 500!!! Sending some powerful Trenergy your way bro 💪⚡

I was thinking about buying one. Do you use it religiously? Or is it something you just to break a slump?

Update on the sleeves. Got them today… was a bitch to get them on and then they wouldn’t roll back down past my calves! Damn near needed my leg amputated… who has tips on putting and removing STIFF sleeves.

Used the A7s rigor mortis sleeves on squats today.

Pros:
No knee pain whatsoever even at 455 (I can get knee pain as low as 135 or maybe even lower, fucked meniscus etc)

Different feel in the hole and definitely a “bounce” per se out of it. Some getting used to.

Cons:
Everything else, but the knees hurt, calves hurt, ankles hurts from the tightness.

Hard to walk.

Loss of circulation feel, not bad but there.

The more you squat and pumped the legs get the worst they feel.

Hard to get on, hard to get off.

Simply uncomfortable as shit.

Thats why I use moderate sleeves ( I think mine are Tuff or some brand like that), easy to get on/off, and then just wrap over them when going heavier where I know my knees will need the extra support.
East on/off, etc...

Might be a little too tight

I thought about doing this exact same thing and will most likely get another pair of sleeves.

I tried the elbow sleeves. As you already mentioned, they hard to get on and are the right size. Dont feel like they do crap. I use regular old elbow wraps. Ill also stick with using wraps for my knees. Yes wrapping a pain in the ass in between each squat but worth it.

I might be doing this, seems like the smart thing to do especially since my leg days are full leg focused and typically rotate from quad movements to hams. BB squat my first movement after warming up and there’s no way in hell putting these damn sleeves to do my squats, then going through the pain in the ass to take off to do something like leg curls and then back on for a leg press or something of that sort. I’ll leave them for BB squat only when attempting PR and will get mid or even the “flexi” which are the lightest stiffness which I’ve had before and are ok plus wraps on top for actual weight.

I use the sleeves for lower weights like leg extensions and curls... wraps for everything else. I like the wraps because I can adjust the tension up or down by simply twisting them one way or the other.

I’ve never used wraps, but pretty certain I sized wrong. About 2 sizes off, at least one for sure. I got big calves. Gonna try to get a bigger size and give them a go. Definitely helped with knee pain and stability in the hole, felt really strong coming up. Just too damn tight lol

My problem with the sleeves is that they get worn out too easy and lose elasticity.

What technique have you been using to get them on?

My old a7 cone sleeves I would turn them inside out slide in with the bottom towards the knee till snug right under the knee then pull the bottom over and that was it.

These I roll the top down and the bottom up turning the sleeve almost into a ring, then grab from the very bottom and slide them bitches up hard with long socks for a better slide, this should allow it to set right on my knee joint then simply un fold the top and bottom, but it’s way too tight on my quad and on my calf. Putting it in is the easiest part though, which is hard nonetheless. Getting them off I found rolling the top about half way down then digging both thumbs inside the front and pushing down with all my might gives me about an 1/8 of an inch movement then proceed to the back end, then back to the front and so on till they slide off. It’s extremely difficult to even dig my thumbs in once my legs are pumped and I found out the hard way hairy legs are straight torture.

When it comes to knee sleeves, just measure properly and buy SBD or Inzer.. I’ve used a ton of them both for competitive powerlifting and bodybuilding purposes, and those two are in leagues of their own. If you want extra tight, size down once off of your measurements. Otherwise buy the recommended size
