Nope, I don't have visions of grandeur here, just trying to figure out the why? You bring up animales, unthinking animals to compare myself to. You fell into the exact same thing everyone else that tries to answer the question does. BECAUSE you just SHOULD. You also stated its better than the alternative, to whom and who do you know? There could be hookers and blow for miles on the other side. But seriously why do people fee the need to force their beliefs onto others? What harm comes to you or the mailman if I make the choice to leave this plain? It would be the exact same thing as me moving and getting off the internet. My mail person would say, hmm he's not here anymore and you would say, hmm he must have found a better forum to visit. Where is the harm to others if someone offs themselves? Why is it just because, None of my ancestors fought to land me anywhere, they could never have know of my existence, and why do I owe them something? I in no way shape of form think for a second that my kids or grandkids owe me a second thought when making choices for themselves or family. If I would then I wasn't doing it for them I was doing it for me. I gave them the best start in life I could possibly give, it's their turn to run with it, however they see fit. You bring up all the horrible things that go on in the world at the end of a post stating that this life is the best thing in the universe, except for the kids and women being raped, murdered, starved. Old infirm folks suffering for years on end because they no longer have the strength to do anything about it, but can't afford food and lose their home because they cant pay the taxes. Kids being bombed over some wackos religious notion of land ownership. What exactly is so awesome that wanting to see the other side is considered so wrong? Why SHOULD someone be forced to remain in a situation where they no longer fit? Should someone suffer a pathetic life full of darkness and despair because some kid in Africa is hungry? If so then why are we not doing more to feed that kid? If someone who has suffered 45+ years of torment and pain should be forced to live because someone else has cancer, should we not put more effort into curing it? When is enough enough in you mind to allow someone to self determine? I do enjoy the conversation and I felt zero hate toward me as I hope I have conveyed to you. It just been over the last couple years that I started seeing things differently and have been really struggling with a simple question. Perhaps the thing that is driving me toward the exit door is the same thing that is not allowing me to see a different view... Like I said I'm asking questions because I'm genuinely interested in answers, not forcing my beliefs. If I change a few minds in the process, bonus but not my goal.
