ICE

if you drink good quality whiskey and put a splash of water in it the smell of the smoke from the barrels is amazing, I can tell who really drinks good whiskey verses cheap stuff
You do this especially with cask strength. I don’t care what anyone says, they don’t drink Bookers neat.
If you’ve ever done a whiskey tasting you’re given a bottle of water to dribble in the spirits after each sip to break down the flavors. The idea of ice is to do this as it melts.

But if your knocking back Old Fashioned then your ice is an after thought lol.

Put the whiskey or whatever liquor in the freezer. It drops to a very low temp and wont freeze but its super COLD.

I use an ice machine that's filtered through one of those charcoal filters so there's zero weird taste from the ice.

I don't drink at all anymore but when I did it was scotch. Good scotch not that Green Stripe rock gut garbage. 15 year old Glenfiddich was great. Drank it neat. Tequila on the other hand i would put in the freezer. Don Julio or Patron.

All liquor went in the freezer when I drank, that was a must for me, however, I had a serious drinking issue tho so maybe everyone doesn’t do that

Btw, you ever try Stanahans 90proof sherry cask single malt from Colorado? If not, you should I thought it was worth the extra dime
