How many bodybuilders here eat white rice before and after they workout? I am trying a half cup packed before and after the gym. Is that good for a bulk where I want to mostly gain muscle not fat. I know the rest of my calories are important too. But I have just been eating about 300 grams of protein and 80 grams of fat and 150 grams of carbs. I was going to add the rice to my diet that Ive been on. So more like 230 grams of carbs with the white rice I am adding to my diet. Also I am 5'10' 180 pounds at about 10% bodyfat. I am 7.3% on the 7 point caliper test but I think its wrong. I am 48 years old. And only on 250mg of test enanthate every 3 days. Working out 5 days a week. So is this good for a clean bulk? Thanks everyone!

Do you think half a cup packed tight before and after my workout is enough white rice or too much? So a total of 1 cup packed tight.

Just wondering what most guys would eat on average. Is 1 cup overkill or a normal amount. I know you don't know how much food I need but what would you think is average?

Everyone is different in what they require and what is needed based off their goals.

If your dieting go for less. If you’re trying to add a little size go for more.

“Average” imo 200-400 daily…

When I’m bulking, I eat about a pound (dry weight) of thai jasmine rice per day.

For intraworkout carbs I use Karbolyn or HBCD.

How much rice you should eat is entirely dependent on your individual goals though.

Man. 1 cup of rice isn’t anything , u need more carbs then 1 cup of rice . my pre workout meal is 112g (uncooked) cream of rice with honey and frozen fruit and peanutbutter, post workout is 2 pancakes , a mega rice krispy treat, and a fuck load of fruit lol lunch is 3 servings of rice, dinner is another serving, snack is another 112g uncooked cream of rice with honey, frozen fruit and peanutbutter along with a few slices of sour dough. U are not eating nearly enough food if u think a cup of rice is ganna put size on .

Theses are staples for me basmati and or jasmine… carb cycling works well with white rice for me, bulking or leaning with out adding too much fat but 300grams of protein at 180lbs is over kill, imo

There is no "average" because there is no "average" body type and no "average" goal. Everybody eats what they eat. Most people here dont eat just for "how much we eat," we eat for purpose. Different purpose, different amount.

...and I'll say it and my brother @Jbswole40 gonna back me up, i wouldnt even hit a stray dog in the ass with a bowl of jasmine rice. 🤮 🤣

White is right

The average grams of carbs in one cup of cooked Jasmine rice is only 39gms. That should tell a tale right by itself.

You've been smashing 300 grams of protein? How much do you weigh?

That damn jasmine rice, that picture was hilarious

600 carbs per day to gain on heavy workout days and I’m about to have to go up more.

I eat a LOT of rice. Usually about 150-200 carbs worth.

Just had 60g cream of rice, dry weight, with an added 30 grams of candy corn as my pre workout carb source.
