The same thing happened with storage, a $100 storage device is now $500+. When that happens business suffer like mine. Business no longer upgrade, or replace, they reduce there storage requirements and eliminate redundancy, crossing their fingers that shit will just work for another 3 years. When my services and hardware have to increase 4x, people stop buying and having shit serviced. When that happens I lay people off. AI is not only killing jobs in the untrained sectors, but in the advanced sectors too. And while there might be an uptick in jobs created during the dev and build out, the number of people needed to run some of the largest ones on in the 200 to 300 range, the mid to large centers only require between 25 and 100. So no Data centers are not providing jobs, there are destroying. I'm not ever going to touch on the increase in electricity rates for people near them.

Agree. There will be an initial uptick in jobs to build out the system, but once the system is in place, human labor, for the most part, will be reduced massively.
