I didn't see that fight playing out like that at all. Topuria gotta be feeling like he was in a car wreck this morning. Gaethje beat on that man for 4 rounds even if he lost one round. His face was unrecognizable.

I did. If I had money to bet I would have been shitting in hot cotton for a good while. I had
Gaethje over Llia in a KO upset. I had Gane over Periera easily. Sean winning. Bo winning. The only one I lost was Hokit. He just hasn’t proved to me he’s that good yet but he made me eat my words.

Llia was too confident. He looked past his opponent to his next fight and that’s never a good mindset for any fighter. That’s a huge no no. He knew he fucked up after eating the first hard punch.

Damn right he did! His face looked like he had been beaten with a baseball bat. And that knee he took in the left side at the end of the 4th round had to have broken some ribs. That was a vicious knee strike.

That’s exactly it, Ilia has the tools to beat Justin but was too overconfident and lost sight on what he should have done. Going to be interesting to see if Ilia can comeback after this or if his confidence left with that 0.

Some guys never mentally recover after having their will absolutely taken from them.

Probably been more than a couple of guys that haven't been the same after taking a beating like that from gaethje. Although ferguson and chandler were probably on the backside of their careers, they were never the same. Yet to see if fizeiv comes back from the gaethje effect yet
 
Hell of a fight! Justin being the naturally bigger man definitely helped. Taking all of those shots from a naturally bigger man with heavy hands was something Topuria had never experienced.

Justin is able to beat down huge 155ers like Pimblett. So it had to be brutal for Topuria to be taking all of those shots.

You could see early in that 3rd round he knew he had a problem on his hands.
 
As soon as I saw an interview with Topuria and he was totally overlooking Justin and talking about who he would fight after he won blah blah blah. The dude is very talented as a fighter but that’s not everything in MMA.

He’s fighting in the UFC now. It’s the pinnacle of our sport and it’s pretty safe to say everyone knows how to fight. You can NOT EVER overlook anyone at anytime period especially when you’re on top. Topuria didn’t respect that and got taught a lesson. With his talent there was really no excuse for him to loose like that. He needed a reality check and got on beaten into his face.

As far as Alex goes fighting Gane was a horrible choice for his first go at Heavy. Guy was just too skilled and hes a heavy handed dude. I didn’t see Alex making it out of the first honestly.

Both guys learned valuable lessons for sure. Going up and down weight classes chasing belts ain’t easy. Especially 3. Alex needs to stay where Alex is best. His punches are just regular punches to the big boys

Topuria the same but I’m not sure he comes back the same guy. He’s either gonna get smart and stay the man in the lowers or he might just fade away. He’s gotta be mindfucked big time.
