37M, back in the gym ~8 months after about a 10-year layoff. In my late teens/20s I ran AAS pretty recklessly for 5–6 years — no bloodwork, lots of blasting, got big/strong, then life/marriage pulled me away.


I trained naturally for ~4 months, then got on TRT. In the last 8 months I’ve put on about 45 lb and completely transformed — muscle memory is wild. Eventually bumped TRT to 300 mg/week test cyp, split into daily injections.


Currently cutting/recomping:


  • Started around 20% BF
  • Down about 20 lb in 5 weeks
  • Calories: 2,400–2,800/day
  • 2 mg retatrutide
  • 300 mg/wk test cyp
  • 200 mg/wk Mast prop, daily injections
  • ~21 days into Mast
  • Planning final 6 weeks with Anavar

Strength is down somewhat from the cut, but performance is good. Starting to see hardness, vascularity, and a tighter look as Mast kicks in.


Looking for feedback: keep doses as-is, adjust, or push higher? Also curious how you’d approach the Anavar portion. Bloodwork is scheduled — trying to be much smarter this time than I was in my 20s.

Bottom line. I want to get huge and lean again... but play it smart this time.

Hopefully theres a lot more info missing from this post because if not, looks like you did the exact same thing you did in your 20's. No bloods, no baseline, no goals except "get friggin yuuuuge bro"

45lbs of fat AND muscle... muscle memory is VERY real. Also, I was coming off of a year on keto/carnivor, and added carbs back in .. so a lot of glycogen.

Actually got labs right out of the gate. Naturally testosterone was just below 400 in the beginning with 90ish free test. Last labs were two months ago, 1500 test and 406 free test.

All other bloodwork is good and in range. Truly doing it different this time.
 
I love that cycle. The mast really shines as you get leaner. So I'd hold off upping the dosages until then. 10-25mg anavar is generally well tolerated for 6-8weeks. If you're health conscious main thing to keep an eye on is it can trash your lipids, so make sure you're on top of cardio, fiber, fish oil and not eating a ton of saturated fats. But IMO hdl being a tad low or ldl slightly out of range for 6 weeks isnt the end of the world

Love to hear it. I'm thoroughly enjoying mast. Feeling more drive in/out of the gym, and while I'm only 3 weeks in, fullness and vascularity are coming through in a deficit at around 17% bf. Hoping it helps to retain the regained muscle, which it has so far.

Thank you for mentioning. That's my only concern with anavar. Have new labs scheduled Wednesday to see where I'm at and if mast has tweaked any of my numbers. Planning on doing 6 weeks @ 25mg a day, but open to suggestions.
