E.J.D's 75 Hard log

Yesterday's adventure. Welllll the lady and I got into it all day long yesterday. Her viewpoint is that since I have began my journey thru 75 Hard I've become moody, negative, intolerant and toxic person with my opinions. She's NOT a fan of me being intolerant of laziness from people at work and life. People who use excuses for everything as justification for the lack of the pursuit for personal excellence. She's not a happy camper with my new vocal outlook on these matters. I will say I definitely have become intolerant in these areas. People that complain about everything then put zero effort in changing to improve themselves. Afraid to put any work in. Play victims etc I really can't stand that . So we had it out but everything seems okay at the moment. But never know I could be looking for new living arrangements soon lol

It certainly is exhausting. Her and I have different outlooks on things. on how to deal with them. I never bring up my side till she is done expressing her displeasure with something. then I formulate a plan of action to deal with it. Then get ripped up because she will handle it her way which shows continually zero fruit of working. Plus she hates planning things and I plan lol. Fun times.

Ying and yang
I totally get it,me and my woman are so different in many ways..but it works (most of the time) 😂

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF?
April 09, 2023 AndyGram
What do you think of yourself?

Take a second to really think about it...

Because whether you believe it or not, what you think of yourself is projected to other people.

It works like this...

Do you remember a time when you felt nervous or anxious on the inside and you know that other people could just sense it?

Or...

Do you remember a time when you felt great about yourself and people seemed to openly approach you more often?

Most people spend their entire lives unaware of the impact this has on how they are perceived to the world and other people.

The truth is ... what you think of yourself also applies to your success and happiness in life.

If you think you're capable of success … as long as you work hard enough and long enough to achieve it...

You will.

If you think you're incapable of success … and that success is reserved for certain "lucky" people...

The outcome of your life will be a reflection of those beliefs.

So, what do you think of yourself?

If you don't think highly of yourself...

I recommend you start taking action to change that.

Your happiness and success depend on it.

Wife: "We never talk any more."
Husband: starts communicating more for a week
Wife: spends that week telling the husband how he's wrong--negative, blah, blah, blah
Husband: shuts up again
Wife: "We never talk any more."

The other day I was just dumbfounded by this. We have several ducks. Well the one brown female was getting mounted by one of the male brown ducks. Then the other brown male duck came over and grabbed on her neck as well. I was like she's getting tag teamed by the males. My lady goes why you being so negative, everything is negative. I politely go. I'm watching this unfold in real time how's that negative. It's happening now as we speak...lol

Day 70 has been won. A long, exhausting day overall. Regardless of situations of this day I pulled thru and was victorious. I hope everyone had terrific victorious days as well. The only easy day was yesterday.

WHO ARE YOU CAPABLE OF BECOMING?
April 12, 2023 AndyGram

None of us can look in the mirror and honestly say we know exactly who we are.

You may have a good idea about who you are...

But if you think you know 100% of who you are, you're keeping yourself from growing and becoming more.

Most people have this problem.

They hang on so tightly to who they think they are and who they're expected to be ... that they ultimately miss out on the experience and journey of becoming who the fuck they were meant to be.

You have to understand that life is about constant evolution.

Just like your cell phone...

There is a new version of you every year.

If you keep an open mind...

If you quit basing your life on who you're "supposed to be"...

If you stop living in line with the expectations others have of you...

If you let go of your pride and ego...

If you start listening and quit trying to “win”conversations...

If you quit accepting mediocrity...

If you learn to see the world through different perspectives...

...and if you open yourself up to the opportunities you have every single day to learn, grow, and become a better version of yourself...

You'll quickly begin to realize that you are in a constant state of evolution.

Become a student of life and tackle your days one at a time.

While you may never know exactly who you are...

By pursuing your potential...

You'll find out exactly who you're capable of becoming.

Day 71.. the day has been won. I finished the Benjamin Franklin book today. Only had 20 pages left so I decided to finish it which was what I wanted to accomplish before finishing 75 Hard. Benjamin was a very interesting character. Now onto another book in the collection. I'm grateful for getting myself back on track. Back to the disciplined savage I once was and becoming again. I hope everyone had kick ass days today...

YESTERDAY'S WINS DON'T MATTER TODAY
April 13, 2023 AndyGram
Nobody cares about what you did yesterday.

They only care about what you do today.

You may have been the best yesterday...

You may have dominated your competition yesterday...

You may have been in the spotlight yesterday...

But the only way you're going to continue to win long term is by showing up and producing results today...

...and not just today...

EVERY FUCKING DAY UNTIL YOU DIE.

I see far too many people who pick up a few wins...

Think they've "made it"...

Let their foot off the gas...

Then quickly become completely irrelevant.

You have to understand that no matter how much you win...

The second you become complacent is the second you'll be forgotten.

Getting a few wins doesn't make you a winner forever.

The only thing that truly makes you a winner are the actions you take every day to keep winning.

Never forget that.

Day 72 is a wrap. Had a brutal leg workout. A very toasty sweaty outside workout. Started my new book Taking Point by Brent Glesson. Good day of victory today. The only easy day was yesterday and looking forward to tomorrow.

I’m just catching up on your log bro. You can actually tell theres something different about you if you read all your posts. You seem much more confident or something. I mean that’s just in the way you write. I can’t imagine the change in real life. Awesome job bro. It sounds like the program is doing exactly what it’s suppose to do. Overall it’s a pretty impressive feat imo. I’ve seen a ton of guys and girls crash and burn trying some of these programs. You really gotta be disciplined.

Thanks I appreciate the kind words!! This program was exactly what I needed to kickstart my lazy ass. To get myself back on track. I can be very disciplined when I get out of my head and stop making excuses, etc. This is just the beginning of a new chapter moving forward. I'm actually starting to look like I actually lift again lol.. I'm forever grateful for everyone who has taken a look at this log. Hopefully it has impacted someone is a positive way..

THE KEY TO BUILDING GREAT RELATIONSHIPS
April 14, 2023 AndyGram
Every single one of us wants to have great relationships with others...

In fact, I would argue that having strong and meaningful relationships has an enormous impact on your success in life.

But when it comes to actually building these relationships...

Most people are solely focused on what they can get out of the relationship...

Then they act surprised when their relationships suck.

Building amazing, lifelong relationships requires a much different approach…

You have to stop focusing on what the other person can do FOR YOU ... and start focusing on what you can do FOR THEM.

If you aren't treating people the exact way you'd like to be treated...

If you aren't putting in the effort...

If you don't truly care...

If you don't stay true to your word…

Or if you always expect something in return for your actions...

Is it really a surprise that your relationships suck?

Start showing others your genuine intent and care...

Not just through your words...

But through your actions.

Do that, and you will have no problem building amazing relationships with others.

Guaranteed.

Day 73.... The day has been won... I switched things up today. I did my outside workout at 3:15am. Under the stars and the warmth of a 58 degrees morning. It was a serene, enjoyable and majestic experience in the presence of the universe. Then my 2nd workout 12 hours later I hit chest. Some shoulder stiffness but nothing to awful. Did my reading outside with a protector watching out for me lol. The warm weather is a welcome addition to the journey that started in the bitter cold. I hope everyone had successful, victorious days as well.

Uncompromising integrity is my standard.
My character and honor are steadfast.
My word is my bond.

St. Crispin's Day speech from William Shakespeare's Henry V

"From this day to the ending of the world, but we in it shall be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother."

Very powerful speech

Day 74 has been completed and won. I'm grateful for another victorious day. My back workout started a bit rocky. Warming up everything felt heavy. Way heavier than it was. So dug deep and worked thru it. Ended up completing a great workout. Overall it was a successful, enjoyable day. Tomorrow is the official last day of the program. Being that I'm me I might continue past it for a day or two more. The only easy day was yesterday. Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow will bring. The plan is to hit arms. Shall see when I arrive at the gym.

Day 75 has arrived. Currently weighing in at 276.4 this morning. This program isn't about weight loss but there have been changes to my body. The plan is to hit arms then calves. Calves are my best body part so I figured I would hit them on the last day of the program. I'm grateful for the journey I embarked on. I'm thankful for all you that have viewed the ride. Thank you..

Bravo and now do another 75! Learned a lot man thanks

I'm grateful for that. My plan is to continue on with the program. There are different stages for a year long plan which I won't be able to accurately say at the moment. This was just the starting point or jumping off point to a much bigger transformation of myself. Not just physically but mentally. The kick in my ass I desperately needed.

ACTION ELIMINATES FEAR
April 16, 2023 AndyGram

Most people spend their entire lives trapped in a constant cycle of fear.

Here's how it works...

Their inaction leads to doubt...

Their doubt leads to fear...

Their fear leads to inaction.

If you find yourself trapped in the same cycle...

Understand that the only way to break free is by TAKING ACTION.

The more action you take...

The less doubt you'll have.

The less doubt you have...

The less fear you'll experience.

The less fear you experience...

The more action you’ll take.

Even though fear can keep you trapped in a vicious cycle...

The minute you take action is the minute you'll break free.

Day 75 has been won and completed. The program is officially done. Executed the plan which lead to victory. Tomorrow will be overtime mode for me. The journey will continue on its course. I might ended the program Wednesday or Saturday with a day of food debauchery. A day to eat everything that has been forbidden. But, I really have zero desire to eat any of it. Pizza, Chinese, cheesecake, ice cream etc really isn't getting me hyped up. Strange in a way because I should be foaming at the mouth for the shit that's been deprived. I could actually care less about it. So tomorrow will be day 76 switching to overdrive. I'm grateful for this experience. I'm grateful for doing this log to keep me on track and moving forward. Thank you everyone I appreciate all of you.

This has been a great log. It isn't the typical run of the mill log. Thanks for doing it!

Thanks I appreciate it! You deserve the credit for this log. Without the seed you planted in my head that grew and took life. This log wouldn't have happened. So all the thanks to you!!

Blueprint for completing 75Hard. Can be applied to other programs.

1. Research the program. Either listen to podcast #208 or buy the book. One must know the workings of the program inside and out.

1. Forgive Yourself. Go to the accountability mirror then forgive yourself. You put yourself in this position. You must come to terms with the fact you are solely responsible for where you currently are.

1. Read or listen to Atomic Habits by James Clear. One must understand how and why we habitually commit bad and good habits. Bad habits got yourself in this situation. You will need to develop a new system that works for you instead of against you to achieve your end goal.

1. Keep the promises you make. The way to build confidence in yourself is by keeping the promises you make. By keeping these promises you build confidence then you start stacking wins. Day by day you stack wins and change your beliefs in yourself. Keep a journal or log to visually see proof you are making progress.

1. Embrace the Suck. It's a great book by Brent Glesson. It's also a great way to look at the program. You must become a master of the monotonous. The ability to day in and day out crush repetitive activities. Also fuck your feelings. If you are lead by your feelings you will go nowhere. You will need to tell your bitch voice to fuck off and do the work. The bitch voice will come up with excuses why you should quit. Hey, your tired, you had a long day etc. Fuck those thoughts and feelings. They will sabotage you.

1. Change your inputs. Change what information you take it. Either by books, YouTube, Podcasts etc. Find people that will inspire to push you forward. I used David Goggins, Brent Glesson, Jason Redman, Tim Grover, among others. People who have been through hard work and trying times that puts your journey into perspective. You are capable of achieving great things with work and effort.

1. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. You will need to get up earlier. You will need to make sacrifices that involve your time. Expect strains on relationships, friendships. You need to budget your time which means less time for other things. When you're with your significant other make sure you are present and attentive. It will be difficult at times because you will be physically and mentally spent. Put the effort in to being there. it will go a long way.

These will help you accomplish great things. Keep you in check. Keep you pressing forward to your end goal. Enjoy the journey!
