Get Shredded!
Starting tomorrow February 1st I'm starting my journey with 75 Hard. Andy Frisella"s program to develop mental toughness and discipline. It's NOT a fitness program. With that said physical training and mental toughness go hand and hand. There are 5 critical tasks that need to be finished every day.

#1. choose a diet and commit to it. That means zero cheating on the plan you choose and zero alcohol.
#2. Drink a gallon of water a day
#3. Workout twice a day for 45 minutes. One session must be done outside.
#4. Each day, read 10 pages of a non fiction/entrepreneurship/personal development book
#5. Take a daily progress picture. Recommended to do before bed
If you fail to do any of this tasks you must start over. Back to day 1. Zero compromise . This program is designed to be inconvenient because life's inconvenient.

My diet/eating plan will be intermittent fasting with low carb/keto diet.

Quick backstory. I've been a undisciplined slob for quite some time. Missing gym time, eating whatever I want to. I'm not a huge eater. I'm prone to undereat actually. My evil villain of choice is pizza and ice cream. I take full sole responsibility for where I am currently. This program will force me back into doing what I need to do. I can be laser focused on a destination for extended periods of time. On the flip side I also can go the opposite direction. I need to tell my Bitch voice to fuck off. This journey will be a raw unfiltered log. Thanks to all who show interest and support.

Books
Will start reading Lessons I've learned the hard way by Brad Lea for my 10 pages requirement

Also I'm about 3/4 finished with 75 Hard by Andy Frisella. I will also be reading this in addition and referring to it for guidance.

Audiobooks
Relentless by Tim Grover... I've listened to it 3 times through already

The subtle art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson. Just finished it. I highly recommend it to anyone. It's 2 different books in one that ties together

Unfu*k Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Life by Gary John Bishop

Just Finished my 45 minute outside workout. Cardio in 20 degree bliss with a slight wind from time to time. 5 minutes in my bitch voice was like ftw are you doing. I in turn said shut the fuck up. I'm doing what others won't do. Around the 20 minute mark I hit a stride. My thumbs were numb through my gloves, face frozen but kept going.

4 tasks done for the day just selfie before bed and I won the day...

Day #2....
Current weight 287.8

Andy quote to start the day
"Mental toughness is the result of that constant, unflinching completion of monotonous critical tasks"

"Happiness is built on the relentless repetition of character building habits"

Day 3....
Morning weight. 281.4. I stepped on the scale 3 times to see if that was accurate. It was.

Today is going to feature a interesting obstacle. Today's weather in my world of the tundra is only supposed to be a high of 9. With wind chill at -10 to -20 below. This is going to be a real test of mental toughness and fortitude. My bitch voice has been chattering all morning. I rudey have said fuck off I'm not going to fail.

"To be successful at the highest levels, you have to do stuff you don't like. It's part of the formula. We're moving forward or we're moving backwards, and if you're not comfortable, you're moving backwards." James Lawrence aka the Iron Cowboy
Also said
"The number one key to cultivating mental toughness is to intentionally put yourself in places that are uncomfortable."

From Andy's book

Day 1-7 deep excitement and disorientation.

Your going to feel excited. The reality is, the vast majority of people on earth don't have the guts or grit to start 75 Hard.
Of the men and women who do, my unofficial estimate is that 99.3 percent of them will give up before they complete Day 3. Why? Because 75Hard is hard.
It will draw on you that most people would never, ever try to do this. You will realize that this program takes character, enormous effort, and a iron will to succeed. And you will recognize that just your willingness to start already separates you from the average person.

STOP LETTING THIS VOICE CONTROL YOU… Andy Frisella
We all have a voice that lives inside our head and talks us out of doing the shit we need to do to become great.

It's the voice that tells you to take it easy...

It's the voice that tells you to cut corners...

It's the voice that tells you to compromise...

I call it the bitch voice.

...and if you want to accomplish truly amazing things in your life...

You have to train yourself to take action in spite of this voice.

Think about how much progress you could make if every single time the bitch voice starts talking you out of doing the shit that needs to get done...

You immediately went out and not only executed on the task...

But also added an extra action on top of it.

Nothing can stop a person who has trained themselves to operate like that.

This is a skill that all highly successful people have learned to master.

As soon as these thoughts cross their mind ... they recognize it as an opportunity to pivot into productive action ... then execute.

You can either develop this discipline for yourself and WIN...

Or keep giving into your bitch voice and keep getting what you have been getting.

All I'll say is this...

There's nothing worse than losing to yourself

Dude you got balls spending 45 minutes outside in this shit.

Fucking 25mph-35mph winds. 4 degrees Fahrenheit…. -25 degree windchill.

Hats off to your crazy ass for getting it in!

Next few days you might have 40 degree workouts tho. So, that’ll be a mini vacation for ya

I listened to David Goggins book Can't Hurt Me chapter 3. The impossible task and made it happen. I can't fail this. I did sit downstairs by the pellet stove for a half hour after to warm up. The first five minutes outside kinda sucked. The next 15 wasn't to bad. When my left thumb goes numb I know I'm about 20-25 minutes in. Warmer days will definitely feel like a vacation for sure. Thanks 👍

I didn't go into the program completely blind. I did a trail run for 2 weeks to see different things. Parts of the program weren't a issue. Water intake, no alcohol which I don't drink so no issue, reading which I needed to get back into. I never take selfies so that put myself in a uncomfortable position. This program is exactly what I needed in my life.

ARE YOU MOVING FORWARD OR BACKWARD? Andy Frisella AndyGram

When most people reach a point in their lives where they start feeling comfortable...

They tend to let their foot off the gas and try to “maintain” where they’re at with minimal effort.

The only problem is … there’s no such thing as “maintaining.”

You may think you can just coast as soon as you collect a few wins and get to a "good spot"...

But the truth is … the minute you do this is the minute you start going backward.

Not necessarily because you are literally going backward but because everyone & everything else is still moving forward.

You move backward by default.

...and as you starting moving backward … there are a whole lot of other people who will keep showing up and getting better every single day.

Eventually, those people are going to catch up … pass you by … and completely destroy you in the long run.

You need to commit yourself to the process of becoming better every single day … regardless of what you’ve accomplished.

Understand that there will never be a point where you've "made it."

There is no “end.”

Don’t get upset with me … I didn’t make the rules … I’m just telling you how it works.

Forward.

Backward.

Those are your choices.

Every single day.
