Day 13 reflection. The day has been won!! I also finished completely the 75Hard book. Mentally locked in, focused, driven. Now the physical obstacle is this. I do have a sinus infection. Started my antibiotics today. I feel pretty tired with ringing in my right ear that's quite annoying. Nasty colored discharge from my nose etc etc. This will be the last time I bring it up. I refuse to give it more life than it deserves. Just a speed bump on the journey. I hope everyone is crushing it out there!!
 
Day 14... current weigh in at 277.8. press thru the tiredness to the victory of winning the day. Today will be challenging but I'm up for it. Have tremendously awesome days today everyone!!
 
AWARENESS IS THE KEY

I don't care what you see or hear on social media...

Nobody feels great about who they are 100% of the time.

Literally nobody.

I certainly don't.

Lots of people, especially people trying to sell you shit, pretend they have all the answers, never struggle, and are happy all the time.

Bullshit.

You know it.

I know it.

…and if you don’t know it…

Know it now.

Every single person is struggling with some real shit that you know nothing about.

Being ok with not having it all figured out is the biggest thing that's helped me navigate these insecurities and determine what’s true and needs addressing and what is a product of overthinking, over analyzing and being too hard on myself.

Awareness is the key here.

When you can truly understand why you feel the way you do...

...and work your ass off to improve in your weak areas...

The way you feel about yourself will improve.

Trust me on that.

Your life is an ongoing project.

...and if you're a high-achieving person...

It's a project that you have to dedicate your entire life to.

Instead of letting that discourage you…

Shift your thinking into recognizing how truly exciting that is.

You have the opportunity every day to get better…

Think about that.

Think about all that open road ahead of you that you get to go down, evolve, learn and ultimately build the best version of yourself.

When you accept this journey…

You get to do more of everything…

You get to contribute more…

You get to develop new skills…

You get to build an amazing life…

…and eventually, that investment will pay off in the form of more confidence and belief in yourself.

The best part is … other people will follow and reap the same rewards you do for themselves because YOU WENT FIRST.

So while you may not feel great all the time…

The more you commit to the process of improving yourself…

…and the more you invest into who you’re becoming…

The better you’ll feel with time.

Work on your awareness.

Learn the difference between things that need to be addressed and improved, and the things that are a product of your overthinking and achievement mentality.

Not every load is yours to carry.

Carry yours the best you can and let other people carry theirs.

Understanding this distinction will allow you to move toward your best life at a much faster pace.
 
Andy used a hockey stick analogy about success on the above podcast I believe. It's a great way to visualize the concept. When we start any journey either, getting in shape, improving ourselves, starting a business. It takes time and it seems like we are not making any progress. We struggle, fight, claw, persevere for awhile. Then one day we start to see progress. Then it goes higher and higher. Better and better. Keep the faith in your solid plan and don't give up before the results are seen. Which many of us give up right before our breakthrough.

That’s the text from a viral meme my guys made off of an IG story I did a few years ago.

I just came across it yesterday and it got me thinking…

Why do people bitch out?

From my perspective … knowing what I know and living the life I have lived so far, it appears to me that life is much harder when you bitch out than it is when you push through.

This is obvious to me at this point.

So I really sat and thought hard on this…

I figured out of all my years in business and the personal development game it comes down to the same 2 main reasons:

1: “Life is hard.”

That’s a big reason and a valid one.

Life IS hard.

…but remember it’s not just hard for you.

It’s not the universe conspiring against you.

It’s not that God hates you.

In fact, if you just look at it a little differently the picture changes….

What if God is putting these challenges in front of you to force you to become what you are supposed to become?

What if the universe knows what skills you need and has actually conspired in your favor to have a bunch of situations arise that will give you the skills necessary to become who you most desire to become?

See what I’m sayin…

If you change perspectives … perspectives change.

Which makes the hard parts easier to tolerate because you know that when you get through to the other side there will be the actualization of your dream.

We gotta do our part with the work, but we tend to make it much harder on ourselves than it has to be by not looking at the situation in a way that serves us.

So that’s reason number one.

Why else do they bitch out?

2: “Nobody believes in me” or “haters.”

Yeah, get used to that second part. We live in a society where you could cure cancer and half the people would hate you for it.

Most people are so interwoven into their own misery and self-imposed limitations that you are insulting them by your actions of even attempting to be more than you are … because that suggests that you think you are better than them because you believe you are capable of something they have already convinced themselves that they are incapable of.

So because they don’t believe it’s possible for them … should you allow your present self to cheat your future self out of a bright ass future?

Honestly … fuck these people.

There is a cool part though…

You will inspire a lot of these people to improve their lives because they watch you so intensely…

If you live right and stay on the good path many of these people will actually improve, and while they may never tell you … this is a good thing.

A rising tide raises all ships.

The truth is I could list 1,000 little reasons people give up on themselves … and you’d identify with them all at least a little … you know why?

Because we are all essentially the same.

We are all human.

It’s hard AF for all of us.

Which is why it’s important FOR YOU READING THIS to push through.

For every single reason that you have for not becoming that version of yourself you truly wish to become…

There are thousands of people out there with harder circumstances than yours … and they’re winning.

What one man can do…

…another can do.

I heard that quote back in the movie The Edge from 1997.

It stuck with me and I believe it to be true.

Not just for myself…

…but for everyone.

The outcome of your life really is your choice … and you can be where you want to be much faster than you think if you commit to becoming the kind of person who accomplishes great things.

So, make today the day you look back on your life and say, "That was the day everything changed!”

You were put here to pursue your potential and create an amazing life for yourself and the people around you...

Don't waste this opportunity.
 
Day 15 ... Currently weighing in at 276.4. everything is going well. I need to eat maybe 1 or 2 smaller snacks during the day. Pork rinds, protein shake or scoop of peanut butter. I embrace the uncertainty of today which will result in winning the day!!
 
Day 15 has been won.. good day overall with a tad soreness in my rear delt area. My feet are hurting a bit. New shoes might remedy that. The weather outside was very mild and enjoyable. Tomorrow might be the same way but next week I think highs of 20's comes back. Thanks everyone I hope all had great days.
 
Day 16. Currently weighing in at 278.2. woke up kinda in a fog today. Pushing thru that. Went outside to the garage and boom stepped in dog shit on the porch... Lol yeah great start to the day. Currently at the gym in quiet solidarity. Kill your days fellas!!
 
THE DANGERS OF TOXIC POSITIVITY

Beware of toxic positivity.

Having a positive outlook on life is a great thing, and it should be encouraged…

However … being too positive can actually work against you if you aren't careful.

Here’s the deal…

It's one thing to be positive and optimistic about your situation...

But if you let this positivity convince you to feel good about things you shouldn't...

It prevents you from taking action...

...and it starts to replace the truth.

That's when you've entered the toxic positivity zone.

If you don't identify and eliminate this behavior immediately...

You have zero chance.

Here's the truth...

You can't truly feel good about your body if you don't take care of it.

You can't truly feel good about your career path if you don't work hard and execute at a high level.

You can't truly feel good about your relationships if you put 0 effort into improving them.

...even if you try to convince yourself and others that you do.

You know the truth … and lying to yourself about it is delusional … not “healthy.”

So what is toxic positivity?

It's accepting a low standard for yourself and learning to be happy with whatever the fuck life gives you.

Is that really what you want?

I know I don't...

...and I'm willing to bet that you don't either.

…and if you do that’s weak ass shit.

You know it too…

Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this right now.

So be positive...

Hope for the best.

Work for the best.

But don't let that positivity get in the way of the real truth.

Don’t lie to yourself…

…you will never truly feel great about yourself until you actually go out to build yourself into someone you can be proud of.

There is no hack, shortcut or course that will get you around that reality.

It's the middle of February…

Which means if you made a New Year’s resolution…

You should have made some progress by now.

So...

How's it going?

Are you still showing up every single day to execute on your game plan?

Or...

Have you been inconsistent … or even fallen off the rails completely?

Because 80% of the people who make New Year's resolutions quit by the third week of January.

It’s sad … but it's the truth.

So were you part of that 80%...

Or are you still committed?

If you actually want to reach your goals and build an amazing life...

Nothing will allow you to compromise on your game plan...

NOTHING.

But if you're full of shit like the rest of the “New Year, New Me" crowd...

Chances are you've already fallen off.

Regardless of what your answer is...

It’s not too late to follow through.

Let this serve as your reminder to refocus on your goals and execution this year.

The world needs your wins...

The world needs your story...

The world needs your example...

Go out and make it happen.

Day 17 has been won!!! My outside workout was in rain, then snow. So that was a fun different time lol. Cruising along. My new books arrived and will be starting one tomorrow. Thanks everyone!!
 
Day 18. Currently weighing in at 277.8. I went and trained legs this morning. I've avoided training legs for a long time. Zero desire or care to do it. Today I told myself to stop being a bitch and do it. Which humbled me by realizing that I've lost so much strength not surprisingly. Which lead me to this. Humble yourself, fuck how you feel, do what you need to do, Leave your ego at the door and kick ass.
 
Day 18 is a wrap. Won the day but not feeling right. Stomach is off a bit and lightheaded kinda feeling. But it's been won
 
Day 19... Here we go.. got a late start for today which pisses me off but body needed a little extra snooze time. A nonstop coughing fit from 2-3:30 helped that. Damn phlegm in the lungs. So be it. Currently weighing in at 278.8.. win your day fellas!!
 
Day 19 recap. All tasks complete except the before bed picture. Today was one of those days were just about everything kinda pisses you off. First thing early in the am my ridiculous coughing fit. Then later on after a gym session I go to do my brakes and rotors. The passenger side rotor I couldn't get off.. It's like welded to the hub.. sigh guess it's going to the mechanic now to fix it. Everytime I turn around I almost trip over one of the dogs. I mean everytime I moved around in the house. Etc etc etc. yeah so some good things and trying experiences today. But the day has been won!!

As humans, we are a highly social species.

We all want to be seen...

We all want to be heard...

We all want to be valued...

...and we all want the social acceptance of others.

But here's the issue...

Social media has created an environment where many people hide behind a fake persona online, tell half truths, hurt each other, attack each other and seek acceptance from strangers as an inauthentic version of themselves…

Then they wonder why they feel unhappy with their life.

What are you afraid of?

You really think you are any more fucked up than the rest of us?

You have to understand that we're all weird...

None of us are even close to perfect.

It's not just you.

We are all fucked up.

Not just you.

It's hard for all of us.

Not just you.

…but the unique way you are fucked up is what makes you … you.

While it’s important for us to do the best we can … it’s important to recognize that nobody is perfect…

…not even you.

Definitely not me.

Not anyone.

…but your journey to be less fucked up is the unique life story that you get to write and inspire others with.

That's an amazing thing if you really stop to think about it.

Just by being you…

…you are being exactly what will produce your best life.

Authentic is the most interesting and cool thing you can be.

So instead of pretending to be something you aren't...

Work toward freeing yourself to be who you truly are.

It's a lifelong project for all of us.

…but once you embrace your true, authentic self...

Things change and you'll begin to attract people who are just like you...

...and these relationships will be 1000x more fulfilling than the relationships you build as a fake version of yourself.

Your uniqueness is your superpower.

That's not some feel-good fluffy bullshit either.

It's extremely practical.

Embrace it.

There's no better way to stand out.
 
Day 20. It's been 20 days already it doesn't seem like it. Taking each day as it's own. The focus is just on this day. To win and be victorious!! Dealing with the feedback loop of feeling failure yesterday trying to fix my car. It's bothering me but I just need to get the fuck over it. Have a victorious day everyone!!

Day 20 is a wrap. Overall a solid day. Atomic Habits by James Clear is a solid book. Anyone looking to develop good habits and break bad ones should check it out. Thanks everyone I hope you all won your days..
