Yea bodybuilding is a very selfish sport. It's hard enough with family and all their sports. That has always been my issue. If I could just get my shit together for a whole year, I would Try in the over 45 group, Family and kids sports makes it really hard to be on a good level and commitment to training good enough to get on that Stage. Good luck to you Big Rich.
As an aging adventure sports athlete it's really about performing well at and enjoying the things I love for as long as possible. Surfing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, all that good stuff. The aesthetics are a nice bonus (though my girlfriend will tell you the aesthetics are the main feature haha) and I truly love the process and the meditative nature of the grind. I can't see myself ever competing, it's just not the part that interests me, but mad respect for those that have the dedication to go for it.Who here just enjoys the daily grind and has no plans to compete and who currently competes or plans to. I myself plan to do a show, maybe a few, depending on how my first one goes. The challenge motivates me.
