Noob question. Do you still consider creatine and pre-workout supp essential to your routine? Would love to hear insights from experienced lifters and fitness enthusiasts.

Creatine has a full list of benefits that AAS cant replace, so yes its still worth it. None of the supplements that are "worth it" before AAS use become obsolete just because you start using gear. If anything you need more. I want to stress "worth it" because most are worthless before or after starting gear.

Personally some do benefit and some don’t.

Specifically pre workout supplements I think the following are solid

Beta alanine, betaine anhydrous, salt, Cardarine

Preworkout stuff I’m not 100% on but take anyways: L Citrulline (malate or regular). Glycerol. Huperzine and all the other mental supps like n acetyle tyrosine and choline etc.

Creatine offers a ridiculous amount of health benefits but I’ve never noticed PRE workout benefits but definitely post workout benefits. I ran 10g a day with 10g d ribose PWO for a month and seemed to have better recovery and endurance the next day.

Now if you wanna talk general supplements that can be a god send I got a list there but again, it’s going to be subjective because not everyone will NEED them

Creatine is definitely worth it for me and pre-workout is a must for me also. I have a low caffeine one and a high one for the days I'm struggling to get going. I just ordered the new pro jocko pre-workout, excited to try it.👊🤟💪

Beta Alanine/Betaine A are more for endurance work/extremely long lifting sessions as it doesn't impact strength at least not in the literature. While the stuff you don't like such as L-Citrulline and glycerol are actually shown to have effect in the literature. Funny how we react to different compounds. Body is not a textbook.

Exactly.

I was doing pretty long sessions when I was running bother beta alanine and betaine. I wasn’t “stronger” in terms of a maximal strength bump BUT my the strength endurance was significantly higher. We’re talking a final set of 4-5 vs a final set of 8-9 across multiple exercises.

L citruline definitely has an effect on my vascularity and drops my diastolic by a solid 10 points. My veins look like small snakes on my biceps and forums and I’d say its impact on my BP is greater than low dose cialis. BUT I struggle to feel pumps with it. Same with glycerol. Sometimes I get a great pump and sometimes I still feel flat with it.

But then you got people that swear by glycerol and they will take 5g of it alongside some l citruline and look like they shot viagra directly into their working muscles 😂. It’s a bummer for those that don’t respond the same but just means we get to experiment until we find something crazy

Creatine is a must for me. The bum pre is awesome I found it on sale at Marshall's for 15 bucks the taste is amazing also. It was a raspberry lemonade or something

creatine has more science behind it than any other legal supplement.

I take my creatine in my intra workout drink. I take a half scoop of pre workout but it don’t do much, more muscle memory than anything at this point when prepping for the gym 😂

Not a stim junkie either.

I’ll stop taking for 3-4 weeks time to time then when I start back is when I really notice it.

The benefits of creatine go well beyond what it provides in the gym.

It plays a role in methylation, helps combat fatigue, supports cognitive function, and may offer benefits for blood sugar regulation and thermoregulation, among other things. Its value extends far beyond strength, performance, and muscle growth.
