I've been on TRT since early Jan of this year (100mg 2x weekly). I started Tirz injections 2 weeks ago, just took my third 2.5mg injection this morning. I began Tirz because my weight was sticking right around 240-244, and I seemed to have more soft belly fat/love handles since starting TRT. I was looking for something to blunt my hunger to cut some lbs, and the Tirz is absolutely 100% doing that! I'm having trouble getting even 1500 cals down per day and I've been trying to prioritize protein, but I still typically hit at or below 150g protein.

So now I'm cutting some lbs (5.5lbs down in past 2 weeks) and continuing to lift heavy 5 days per week. I also walk 30 mins 2 days per week and then 90 mins each Saturday. Rest days on Sunday. I don't want to lose a bunch of muscle, but its seriously a stretch to even hit 1500 cals, especially the first 3-4 days following my Tirz injections.

Some days I have a bowl of oatmeal with PB powder with a protein shake early morning before the gym, cottage cheese and greek yogurt after the gym when I get to work, and then lunch and dinner are both tiny because i can't even put a bite of food in my mouth, so I'll have another protein shake in the evening before bed just to try and get up to around 150g protein, which still isn't ideal. And I'm "supposed" to increase my Tirz dosage to 5mg after next week's 2.5mg shot, which will be my fourth.

I'm considering cutting way back on lifting and also upping my cardio sessions and just cutting 20-25 lbs as quickly as possible and then reevaluating from there. I was at 236.5 this morning. 54 yr old male, 6'1". Any advice?

Ok hijack time.....

How much would one use (Reta) for insulin sensitivity/resistance?

I definitely do not want to curb my hunger though.
I did 1 mg a week to help with bg and it was pretty rough forcing my meals down lol. I actually stopped taking it because I went into a growth phase and knew I wouldn’t be able to eat what I needed too

I am on tz and started low to gauge how it would affect my appetite. I split a 2mg dose across a week and realized quickly how glad I did instead of going higher. My appetite tanked hard. I could eat, but it was a struggle. I'm 4 weeks in and keeping it steady at 2mg. My appetite did slightly return to where I can sufficiently eat my target macros so I don't crash my metabolism.

My appetite pretty much returned to normal Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. Back up to hitting all my macro and overall cal goals. I'm contemplating either doing the 2mg split in half Fri and then next Tue, or giving 2mg a try and seeing how that goes.

Your body will eventually get used to it and a stronger dose is needed. That's normal. Hence why most start at 2.5 and then ramp up as needed. Some can stay at lower doses for a while and be fine. Each person is different. I'm fortunately that 2mg is working wonders for me now.

Don't stop lifting brother! If you just want appetite suppression look into Cagrili. Many people stack minimum amounts with reta. People claim they dont have appetite suppression with reta but my guess is that they are fat lazy asses that dont workout and dont cate about protein. GLPs are just a tool... they aren't magic which most people on them think they are.

You nailed it with about half of the fat fucks here.

You should switch to Retatrutide. I've been on it for 6 weeks no sides. Lost 23 pounds. Now I'm titrating down to get off the stuff.

Sema and Tirz make me sick. I cant use them.
Do you watch your blood sugar at all?

I've heard it helps glucose in a positive way in addition to helping curve hunger, making it superior to Tirz and Sema.

Any input on that @Powerhousehb ?

I don't know much about glucose levels or what is optimal with glucose levels.

I checked my blood sugar several times in the morning with a glucose meter and also asked my doctor the same question. He said its not nessasary.

I tried Semaglutide when it first came out I took the first dose and it stopped my intestines from pushing food through and i couldn't take a shit for 5 days. I also had nasuea and was real nervous on Semaglutide. I never tried Triz thinking it was similar and afraid the same thing would happen. I don't remember what my doctor called this condition.

I started Retatrutide at 2mg per week and had no side effects just appetite suppression. I could still eat. I just didn't want to. The medication made you not care about good. I stayed at 2mg for 7 weeks and the medication was still working fine. Do not raise the medication unless absolutely nessasary.

For non-diabetics, a fasting blood glucose level (measured after not eating for at least 8 hours) is typically less than 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L).

You would want Reta for blood glucose levels.

I’m on the same thing but I’ve been on both for quite some time. I noticed a huge benefit being able to get more of my protein in but still dropping weight nicely by splitting my dose in half and taking it twice a week. I take mine on Saturdays and Wednesdays And since doing that it has been much easier for me to get in the calories. I need without going over.

I took an A1C right before I started reta. The new Galaxy watch supposedly can monitor glucose. Ill report back and monitor with daily intake once it comes out. About a year ago I was right on the cusp of being pre-diabetic. It significantly dropped when I took that last prick. The funny thing is I gained 25# between visits after starting trt and creatine and powerlifting for 9 months (I hit 270 6'1" at my peak). I estimate my bodyfat at that time to be 33+. I did a Dexa scan a couple weeks ago and it came back 28% while 30+ pounds lighter on the scale after starting reta.

I'm thinking that 15% bodyfat is a good goal to cut down on reta and switch to a maintenence dose, eat maintenance calories, get stronger, and slowly shed more BF. I doubt that I have been less than 15% my whole life as I grew up with a family of Italian restauranteurs. What do you think about a 15% goal? Should I shoot for lower?

Unfortunately I am one of them. I put in work though brother. Ill get there...
That comment was not based towards anyone here. That comes from reddit and the glp forums.
