My take is that it's a manifestation of Harper's abuse and trauma she's experienced through life. She suffered a manic break after her husband committed suicide which triggered the breakdown. The young kid with the mask, the priest "my favorite character" , and other men where symbolism of her trauma throughout her life. I say that based on the end when "Mother Nature Man" gives birth to trauma after trauma ending with her dead husband. Men who's abused her in some way throughout her life. Also my thoughts is she left her husband because she became a lesbian and was having a baby with the lady at the end... Finding comfort in women over the abuse that men did to her .

Overall it's a typical A24 movie. Beautifully shot with wonderful landscape shots, slow and quiet at times to draw in the watcher into the atmosphere. Disturbing and unsettling scenes that give WTF moments.. very artsy.

I almost want to watch it again now that you explained it. Needless to say the first time I wasn’t expecting any of the highlights. lol I was too busy going WTF is happening. Well that and arguing with the wife about all the male parts being played by the same guy. Which btw you backed me up on. Ofcourse I had to run and show her the proof you provided and her response was a typical woman one. She claimed she knew it all along. lol Regardless it’s definitely a wild ride especially if you’re not expecting it to be like that. 😂
 
Went to see Nosferatu last night. Not what I expected or hoped for. It had a couple cool parts but they were few and far between. Definitely had that Iterview with a Vampire type vibe.
If that’s what you’re into though then it’s probably a pretty good flick. I mean the acting and story was ok it was just super boring and had almost no horror type action in it. If your like me though and your more into the Underworld, Van Helsing type Vampire movies then I wouldn’t waste my time going to see it.

I liked it, but also think it could have been much better. (Like, much less talking, and much more horror).
Set design and all that was very cool.

I watched a couple movies over the weekend. I don’t think they were mentioned here before but if they were my bad.

Den of Thieves 2 was one I’ve been wanting to see cause I really liked the first one. This one was ok. Maybe it’s because my expectations were too high cause of the first one. Don’t get me wrong it didn’t suck at all. It’s ok just not as good as the first.

Next one was The Hateful 8. I know it’s kinda old now but it was the first chance I got to watch it. Pretty fucking good movie IMO.

I was stoked for this and what a huge let down. Turned it off 3/4 of the way through.

You know after a few days of thinking about it I have to say you’re 100% correct bro. The movie kinda sucked. I think my original assessment was based more on the fact that I wanted it to be great than the actual movie itself.
Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone else but bottom line is the movie was a huge letdown just like @Meetketchup said. 🤷‍♂️😩🤬

I know a few peeps that seen it and they all were disappointed... Thought it was going to be good but was okay at best... It's a shame because the first one was very good...
