When I used to dirty bulk I used to follow this thought. Now that I try and stay leaner year around its not my way of thinking any longer. What's everyone's thought on it. Who does this

I definitely will push more food in the winter months and push for growth as it's easier to adhere to the family events with all of the major holidays etc. I too though tend to stay more lean year round. Too old for the bulk/cut phases and appreciate the work I've put in more. Lean gains all the way these days with slight surpluses and no dirty bulks! Definitely cut back calories though for summer time since I'll be shirtless more haha

nah ive bulked in the summer many times im doing it rn

i just do whatever the plan is for my bodybuilding goals at that time nothing else matters all i care about is getting huge

I used to (even when long distance racing). Winter was more calories and improving - whether strength, speed, endurance, or more recently mass.

This year I’m switching it up though. Just finishing a cut and then going to do a lean gain through the fall and maintenance through the winter. That’s mostly for ski season. Last year I put on between 15 and 20 pounds through January and was just too big and winded skiing.

So this year I’m gonna grow and hopefully progress strength over the summer and fall, maintain/health phase over the winter and cut in the spring (my weight naturally drops some over the main ski season with downhill, cross country, cardio and lifting).

It’s the first year doing this, and tbh it feels backwards, but it’s also kinda great to be done with the cut before summer and not have to eat like it’s a full time job over the winter while skiing

For me it ends up being the opposite since winter is surf season where I live, and it's nicer to be out on the gravel bike and kayak and hiking trails that time of year too, so I end up getting a lot more cardio sessions then lifting sessions every week in the winter. Then in the summer the surf is flat and it's hot and muggy and there are a million mosquitos so there kinda ain't shit to do but lift and eat and work on my tan.
