In my discussions with people not “in the game” I use the word “steroids”. Almost always it is the same reaction as “cunt” or “nigger”. They seem completely shocked that I would use such a word long stigmatized and put into the masses brains to be some forbidden, evil word.
This paves the way for me to explain what the word “steroid” actually means, the different types of steroids (corticoid, anabolic, androgenic, birth control, etc.) and try to open their eyes that these are all just medicines with specific purposes.
They then hear me tell them of how they have been completely misled by the media and society about so called “anabolic steroids” aka “steroids”.
They then seem a bit less judgemental and open to learning more about them.
I don’t adjust my speech to some updated lexicon of acceptable words nor will I ever subtract one from my own vocabulary. I also don’t use words just because it is the popular term, when I think the actual name is more appropriate.
Just yesterday I was in a shop looking at suppressors. The salesman kept using the term “can”. Sounds pretty stupid to me to use a such a simple term for a marvelously engineered product. I could tell he wasn’t on gear or part of our fam….yo.
The problem with peds at least for me is everybody knows what that means. It's not a code word anymore. Yes, every generation has new slangs like my bad. The first time I herd that I laughed. I new what it meant. I was just like WTF?
