Amen brotherThanks for sharing @Glycomann. Its interesting how everyone and their own personal reasons started TRT. I never tried GH. I've been an athlete all my life and still coach college and high school soccer and football. My ideal weight has always been 185 to 190. Very flexible, fast and ripped at 58. My trt is 200mg per week and Ill throw in either proviron at 25mg or Masteron 200mg from time to time. Do blood work every quarter and so far so good.
I always tell the young guys that are trying to get on trt, get your test levels checked first and make sure you need to be on it, otherwise just cycle on and off with PCT. I guess they think its great to be on test for the rest of their lives.
When I was in my mid 40s I started to have the signs of middle age. Mostly it was gaining fat even on a tight diet. My test was actually still in a decent range but for whatever reason I was on the decline that happens with age. my test levels were in the mid 500s but probably a little more than 1/2 what it was in my prime. I had had a history of AAS use from when I was a competative athlete, fairly mild use, so I decided to get back to it. Originally I thought GH was the way to go but decided to go back on AAS. So I started cycling on and off like old style and that worked for about 7-8 years, still recovering into the 500-600 ng/dL range. Finally, in my early 50s I was only recovering into the 300s. That's when TRT started. I still come off everything periodically to deal with this or that and still recover into the 300s but most of the year I am on at least 100-150 mg/w of some sort of test.
I probably could have avoided AAS all together but I was not able to really eat enough to get all the nutrition I really needed without gaining fat. I think it's the normal process of aging and I wasn't willing to go down the same path as my father and uncles who were extremely muscular and strong in youth but became obese with age. I remember it happening to my father. It seemed like overnight. I was seeing it in myself and decided to go the hormone route. Now I am in my early 60s. I'm lean and strong and still doing some sort of workout 5 days a week. I stay between 195-205 and at the low end of that I am at about 11-12% BF if everything is dialed in. That really would not be something that would be sustainable if I was not using some form of HRT. Sex drive is all over the map. TRT isn't always the cure but let's just say that on the weekend my wife and I get our freak on.
What I find a good protocol is 150 mg/w Test P with 1 iu GH EOD. I can do a lot with just that. If I want to look really good and/or just feel the need for speed there are a few goodies I add in. I will up the test a bit to ensure I have enough estrogen and chose one or two of the following: Masteron, Primobolan, Turinabol, Anavar or NPP. Apparently I am still healthy according to my blood work and health check-ups. We'll see how that holds up over the coming years.
AgreedMy man ! Glycomann is a good dude ! Very helpful posts and experience![]()
