Guys,

Is it just me or is everyone and their brother or sister on these weight loss shots?

Everywhere I turn, I hear of people and speak personally with people who are taking these shots and to be honest, I’m seeing folks with pretty dramatic weight loss results.

It’s everywhere….but….at what cost? I’ve recently watched a video about some serious mental side effects associated with these meds. I also heard about some gastrointestinal issues as well.

Regardless….is it just me or is this medical protocol spreading like wildfire???

Let me know guys…
Everything has a cost, but everyone now a days wants instant results. They definitely do what they advertise though.
True enough man. The commercials are total cringe!!

Nothing that actually works is side effect free when it pertains to the compunds we use on this forum. It's just pick your poison and see what you can live with. Everything effects everyone differently.

Well, one of the biggest problems in trying to lose weight is fighting the hunger that a lot of people have, they try , but it just wares them down after a while and they give in to the hunger, that’s one of the biggest draws to GLPs I think. I believe, if people would try to do an intermittent fasting just one time and really give it a solid try, they would find that they really don’t need to take the shot. Have a friend that told me to just give IF an honest try for two weeks and see how much easier it gets, she was right !

Good thought

Yeah they work great. I look better than ever in mid 40s with very little effort on my part. I’m not trying to compete though. I use PEDs to look good and I am not ashamed to admit it. I will admit however that I am concerned about the dopamine/reward system effects of the drugs. And I have been off and on them like 4 years now.

I will probably come off in Fall and assess things again. But I am fairly certain I won’t stay on them forever. But yeah, 4mg Reta per week, 3-4iu GH and whatever you want to run for HRT or a blast. With those in place and decent genetics, it’s life on easy street. But again, I have no interest in competing nor am I interested in being extremely muscular anymore. So they work great for my purposes.

You are on to something with the dopamine stuff. There is much to learn here.

GLP 1 medications are now everywhere and are used by a huge number of people, often even by those who do not truly need them. In many cases they are taken without proper medical supervision, and even more often without a real basic understanding of nutrition, calorie management, and eating behavior.

From an effectiveness point of view, they work, and very well. Weight loss can be significant and relatively fast.

The issue, however, is the context in which they are used. In the absence of nutritional education and a structural change in habits, the result is often only temporary. When the medication is stopped, the effect tends to fade, and without a solid foundation of diet and discipline, the weight lost is often regained over time.

Even losing a significant amount of weight does not automatically change the relationship with food. If there is no real nutritional awareness and no consistent work in the kitchen and lifestyle, the result remains fragile and difficult to maintain.

In summary, they can be an effective tool, but they do not in any way replace nutritional education, discipline, and long term behavioral change.

Every1 but me,fam members, my sister has tried them all, lost 80lbs,great for her.im not a believer in taking it to stay lean.Thats come from diet and hard work..

It’s definitely not just you. GLP-1s like semaglutide, tirzepatide, and retatrutide have become incredibly common over the last couple of years. Between obesity treatment, bodybuilding, and even people chasing cosmetic weight loss, they’re everywhere now.
They can be game changers for the right person, but they’re not without trade-offs. GI issues (nausea, constipation, delayed gastric emptying) are well documented, and there are people who simply don’t tolerate them. The mental health concerns seem to be less clear—there are reports, but the data is still being sorted out.
Like anything else, they’re a tool, not magic. Diet, training, and muscle retention still matter if you want long-term success
