Weight loss shot? Is it just me?

SB Labs
Great news…seems to be a killer option in your case.

I'm just finishing up week 3 on Reta and it has been a total game changer for me. Having something to quiet the "noise" around food and have had little to no side effects running 2-4mg/week. Tried Ozempic a couple years ago and it made me feel like absolute dog shit all the time but haven't had any of that with Reta.
Reta only quited the food noise for the first month, then nada, so I went back to Tirz. I have now tried all three and tirz is my go to.

Guys,

Is it just me or is everyone and their brother or sister on these weight loss shots?

Everywhere I turn, I hear of people and speak personally with people who are taking these shots and to be honest, I’m seeing folks with pretty dramatic weight loss results.

It’s everywhere….but….at what cost? I’ve recently watched a video about some serious mental side effects associated with these meds. I also heard about some gastrointestinal issues as well.

Regardless….is it just me or is this medical protocol spreading like wildfire???

I'm actually a PT and I partner with a wellness clinic in my area because people who take GLP's and don't strength train lose bone density and muscle loss in 72 weeks, at the same rate as 20 years of age related loss. 20 freaking years!! Doc's just push it and up the dosage, but in the next 5 years what percentage of the population is going to have sarcopenia? Scary shit.

Yeah, I see a bunch of skinnyfat people who have lost weight on GLP-1s. That's why I decided to hit the gym, hard, 6 days a week. The first year I didn't even do cardio. 1,200 calories a day, with 800 of that being protein. About 100mg/week of test C (I am 61 so I have been on it awhile).

Scary, yes. When I mention to the curious, yep GLPs work but you gotta lift, eat clean, and meet protein intake to make it work and improve health, many just loose interest.

Damn! 1,200 is low, man. Glad you are still rocking and rolling at your age. Keep it up!

Irony is strong in this, being said on a steroids forum
Pin test, don't work out what happens 0 nothing. Pin glp's don't do cardio what happens weight loss. This is strictly my opinion, everyone I see on them dosent touch a treadmill, eat clean they dont eat really at all lol. No concept of how to diet or train. Why work hard when there a shot for that. Thats how I view it. Not everyone that takes it I put in that box but most I see 100%...

You see them everywhere because the marketing is peaking near viral. The story linked below helps explain why. Telehealth and white label companies allow just about anyone to offer them for sale.

I've heard two predictions. Which is true?
1) Both the FDA and the Chinese Government are expected to put a major crimp into regulating the supply chain even further. Eli Lilly's $1B legal budget will get more active, you will need to go through someone's profit channel to get peptides.
2) Genie is already of out the bottle. People want to experiment with their own treatments and are sick of the system in place. There will be work arounds.

Something to ponder…I’ll need to think on this.

USA is full of obese people and weight loss shots are extremely effective. Stress and over weight is the culprit of most of diseases, every obese person should be talking about them. Side effects...... hahahaha you are on a steroid forum - no one cares about their health as long as their body supports them to build more muscle, being healthy is not the goal but is a necessity to be able to grow more muscle for most - that's a brutal fact

There are definitely people who use anabolics in as heathy a manner as possible. I’m one of those people. Your statement is very broad bro. I would argue that responsible use of anabolics can be more healthy than what the typical American eats, drinks, on a daily basis.

Good info bro….I love the science….keep bringing it.

Thanks for posting this...it's an interesting space, no doubt. FULL DISCLOSURE- I own and operate a telehealth clinic selling these GLP-1s. There are definitely more hoops to jump through than this article is implying.

I think these meds are a tool in the toolbox and have their place. In my mind, the benefits of losing weight (for truly obese people) far outweigh the costs/negatives of that lifestyle/BMI.

An interesting note as someone else mentioned, we are seeing an uptick in people coming from Reta back to Tirz. It seems like the appetite suppressing effects of Reta stop working for a fair amount of people over time. I know it happened with me- I was having to crank the dose up to a place I wasn't comfortable with. Swapped over to the lowest clinical dose of Tirz and BOOM- its was like a switch.

Hope I am not violating any rules by posting that I have a business interest with this.

Heck I see the line of treadmills filled with folks at the gym in the mornings, and I can't tell which ones of them are taking GLP's and which ones aren't.

I believe putting In the hard work. What happened to diet cardio. A strong work ethic. All that is in the past, now there's a shot for that !!!
no different than being on gear IMO. Can take all the drugs in the world but unless you are putting in the work, you aint going to get to where you want to go. Just makes living in the deficit a little easier.

Agreed, responsible use of anabolics is healthier than American diet for sure.

To me it’s like any other thing out there. There is good and bad but talking to my Dr. people are taking way too much and for way too long or they take the shot but still eat like shit on it just Less shit.

My wife had a really hard time with “food noise” she got on a shot took low doses and now has slowly lowered the dose and does every other week. She just needed that jump start help that most people now and days don’t have aka will power.

That’s similar to my wife’s… get that little help she needed to get things going. Then she started lifting again, eating somewhat better, and has been able to titrate down to a small EOW maintenance dose.

IMO how the drugs should used- create the spark to ignite the lasting behavior changes.

Negative women I work with take glp's and have lost crazy weight not one went to the gym. Taking test and sitting on the couch will.do nothing taking glp's and doing the same will still yield results

I do feel if they are used properly they can be a great aid but most misuse them and take the shot and do not workout.

I see it everywhere. I know people taking reta to help with their birth control side effects. Not even kidding. Instead of changing birth controls to ones that didn’t cause massive sugar cravings they just added reta to control the cravings.

I have a lot of obese friends who are taking tirzepatide and a buddies gf is running wegovy.

I was pretty anti GLP when ozempic came out (and called a lot of the side effects that became more widely known as it became mainstream) but after using reta to help with my last 15lbs of my cut (after dropping 60) I can see the appeal.

I’m still anti GLP for people who have zero interest in putting in the work and building the nutritional framework and habits. But at the same time if you’re obese and are willing to put in the effort rather than expect the drug to do the work, and you’re willing to pay attention to your body and educate yourself on the sides then why not?

Yes there are a lot of sides possible. Yes anhedonia is a very real side. So are GI issues. The more mainstream it becomes the more you’ll see the these sides occur but is it “this drug is way more dangerous than we thought” or is it “the increased number of severe side effects is proportional to the increased number of users”.

Like any drug, it comes down to what’s worth it for you (some may like the borderline anhedonia that leads them to eat, sleep, train and repeat and care about nothing else…some may not like that they’re suddenly not interested in drinking anymore). Tren has a lot of mental sides that people will ignore or even embrace because of the results. People will use stuff like DNP and insulin that could kill you if you fuck it up. If the risks outweigh the benefits for someone and they’re conscious of what they’re experiencing so they can adjust accordingly then fuck it.

A lot of people are on them… the problem I see isn’t the shots themselves, I think they’re great, life changing

Issue I see isn’t people don’t use them right, don’t exercise, don’t lift, don’t really change their diets or lifestyle etc

They get some benefits, but they’re minimal and short sided

Totally respect all your points. I have a different take on the above though. That population of people who will never try to lose weight, workout or change their habits to due laziness or ignorance are the people who should mostly be using them. Otherwise, they will continue to be obese, get sick, go to the doctor. need prescription drugs, surgeries, and drain the healthcare system for all of us. Aside from the economic benefits of them losing weight, some people when they do lose a bunch of weight will get into fitness. I'd rather that than all of them stay morbidly obese and die.

I'd much rather someone lose the weight without it learning nutrition, training, cardio and all of it as they will tend to stay lean due to habit, but we have to be real about the avg obese person. :(

No right or wrong opinion.

This was my experience as well. I do best with tirz for weight loss. I switched back to reta recently, for my lean bulk attempt. Just trying to utilize it to keep fat down, but still allow me to eat.
