I wish your wife a speedy recovery.

You've described some very traumatic injuries and if you did go to a chiro for them the first thing that chiro should tell you is to seek actual medical treatment.
Some people love chiropractic and if it actually works for them I think it's great...for them. Chiros are not equipped to deal with traumatic injuries, IMO.

Some people feel they have good results with chiro...I am not one of them.
I've always come out of the chiro worse off than going in.
You cannot see nerve and soft tissue damage on an x-ray and chiros do not do MRI's and C/T's.


Remember, a chiro does not have a medical degree.

I've found that an osteopathic physician (a real doctor) who can do spinal manipulations when necessary and prescribe meds when needed is far superior to any chiro.
Not to mention, they will order the proper scans to fully diagnose the problem.

Also, take the pain pills as opposed to handfuls of nsaids. Nsaids contributed to my CKD. They are hard on the kidneys.

Insurance companies suck ass. Find an attorney. Not just any attorney...consult your friends, family, coworkers and online reviews.
Attorneys are a necessary evil when dealing with the big bad insurance companies.

BTW: Are you in a no-fault state?

This is correct for a traditional chiro. Atlas Orthogonal specializes in trauma, and also can handle normal stuff. They offer soft tissue laser therapy and many other things, too. The chiros there are doctors of osteopathy. Most insurances cover it. Just wanted to clarify that I didn't recommend traditional chiropractors. She should not do that in her current condition.

Thank you everyone for the chiro info...

what can we expect? should be bring xrays, or wait till we speak with a lawyer? this is all new to us.... also she doesnt want ANY meds.... when I hurt my arm back in april, they gave me roxy's and oxy... i was a mess and ended up tossing them ( well I kinda lied, so guy in my gym bought them off me, 30$ each, no joke...) I wanted NO part of those things... i was a hot mess... I couldnt even function... so NO meds in this house at all....

someone mendtioned something to take with her 800mgs pain reliever... to assist with her stomach, does that really assist?

now the dr said she might have TNJ...how can that happen from a crash, isnt that hereditary?

By the way... we owd 6 k on the car, bluebook was about 9-10k.... they paided the 6k and cut a check for the rest of the bluebook.... is that common? because at first we had a nightmar, now its all falling into place... she wants one of those jeep SUV thingys....I know nothing about them... are they worth it..

by the way, her car was a mazada 3... and it took a hit and looks fine... but that kinetic energy demolished the under carage...youwouldhaveneverthunk?

Atlas Orthogonal chiro will do X-rays. If you have some you can bring them, too. But they will still do them bc things shift and change after an injury as healing occurs.

Get her some Prilosec (omeprazole) to take every day while she's on ibuprofen. It's not an "as needed" med, so get on it and stay on it every day til she's off the ibuprofen. Take 20-40mg 30 minutes before a meal...it can take up to 24hrs to start working. Still take ibuprofen with food. **if she has Rx insurance, get the doc to write for it. It'll be cheaper than the generic otc**

(You can also consider getting the otc ibuprofen 200mg tabs. See if 600mg works as well with less stomach upset. Or if taking less more often works. The time between doses doesn't have to be 6 hrs..can be 2 hrs or whatever. The important thing is to not go over 3200mg in 24 hrs).
