Hey guys,
So new guy on the block, I probably have all the same questions new guys have when they first join but they're new to me so apologies what what I may have missed.
I'm 5-8, 55, have usually been in pretty good health, never stepped foot in the hospital, always had a stalky build naturally. Gained weight though in my first marriage (got up to 248lbs), doctor asked how I haven't had a heart attack yet. After that, I got down to 175 with the GLP craze but lost a LOT of muscle, resulting in skinny fat and a BMI of 26% despite fitting into jeans I hadn't fit in since college football. The weight loss did allow me to get off my thyroid and cholesterol medicine and the doc was super happy. But I also know my testosterone is at 175. It's not everything but it's definitely part of the problem.
When I got to my goal, family here started criticizing me for looking sick/gaunt/ugly for being thin and congratulating me only when I ate. That kind of fucked up negative reinforcement resulted in me gaining 25 pounds back sadly. Now I'm turning a new leaf to focus on me, get my muscle back and wanting to become the best version of me. For me.
I contacted a friend in the car community, she only does TRT pellets. I just got labs ordered through H4M to check where I am now and figure out a best path forward to maximize muscle regrowth and reduce overall fat but I suspect they'll give me enough to reach a "normal" T level. I want to get back to 175 but strong. Not 175 and loose.
Got some questions to start. I think clinics will only script minimal testosterone to get you to typical physiological levels. I want to push myself. So, my questions are:
a) how to know what levels I should strive for to achieve my fitness goals
b) how this translates to dosage
c) how to find a professional to help me steer clear of blood work danger zones versus lecturing me and
d) how to navigate good sources versus scams
Appreciate you guys and hope to learn from you all!
