Hey all,

I’ve been on the forum in the past years, but had a long absence thanks to life. Anyway, long story short: I’m trying to make the decision on if going with a UGL or online clinic is going to be the best option to start TRT. I haven’t had new labs ran in a few years, but my labs as of 2022 showed somewhere in the low 400 for total T, so I’m positive that’s much lower now today. I feel it physically, and even some mentally now days. I’ll be 36 this year, with 3 kids. No concern about fertility.

I’ve called some local men’s clinics and got some pricing which was absurd, looked at some online clinics which are slightly less absurd. So now there’s UGL. I’m weighing my pros and cons here on UGL vs. online clinic. Biggest con so far being the cost of clinic compared to UGL. I don’t have insurance currently so that makes things a little more difficult.

Any advice or experience greatly appreciated.

Clinics are a scam, most are cookie cutter bullshit. Unless you have some crazy out of range bloods, dialing in yourself is pretty easy.

I kind of got the feeling when talking to some of them.

Do you have any suggestions on test sources here or somewhere? I’m actually not that scared of having to monitor myself as I’ve ran a SARM cycle in the past no issues, monitoring myself. So I feel like I may have at least enough knowledge to stay safe.

I’m a Marathon whore at the moment. But I’ve used test from Marathon, SB Labs, Platinum Pharmaceuticals, and Stada Labs all good to go.

I think Marathon is still having a sale on Test Iso

Cool, I’ll look into them. Thanks for the reply. Kicking myself for not having insurance right now or this would an easier choice ha.

TRT clinics are really expensive and provide little oversight (or care for) your health

If you actually have low testosterone, get an appointment with your GP or an endocrinologist

Getting a script should be no problem

Even if you eventually go the UGL DIY route, good to keep on top of your legit TRT script just in case (UGL shortages, traveling, legalities, etc)

Plus while it's great to have forums like this to ask questions and get answers/tips from people with more experience, it's also good to have a medical professional on your side

When I had my labs done a few years back, my GP said I was “normal range” and wouldn’t do anything for me. I lost faith at that moment. My T was 420ish I believe, 3 years ago. Also, no insurance now, so I have even fewer options. I get it though, and agree with what you’re saying.

I took advantage of some of the SB Labs specials and accidentally stocked up for... a while.

Will a script benefit you in any way, legally, insurance wise etc? Are you confrontable with the amount of knowledge you have with evaluating your own blood work etc. Can you afford an online clinic seems they can be had for about $100 a month everything included.

I'm with Defy Medical since Dec 2023. They are in the top for knowing their shit with HRT, imo. If you don't know how to dial in or deal with some side effects (should be minimal), then go with a good clinic. Once you learn about it more and get dialed in, you could go UGL and do it yourself, but you lack the prescription. I'm prescribed Test and low dose deca. I add in UGL when I want to cycle. This makes it very easy for me to not worry when traveling with my test and deca... or wherever, really. Plus, I have committed source and am able to run labs through insurance to check on things every 6 months.

That $100 is a bait to get you in. One clinic is $45 at home lab (saving $100 on the lab!) then $130 monthly membership, then test STARTING AT $28 a month, then Clomid starting at $40 a month… See the switch?

No insurance also.

That sounds like it has its perks for sure, but one clinic wanted to only prescribe me Clomid only. Others have had crazy price structures. How much do you pay in total monthly?

I don’t have insurance so that plays a part also.

I worked with Beth. She listed out all my options and suggested something, but was very receptive and on board for everything I wanted to do. I pay $129 per 10mL vial of 200mg/mL test Cyp and similar for deca. No monthly. I pay for 6 month visits for $150 or so. I get them to hand write my lab scripts and send to email. I bring that to LabCorp and have it run through insurance. It comes out to $60/month or so. I'm on 160mg test cyp and 70mg deca a week.

The labs are about 200-300 without insurance and they have discounts through LabCorp and Quest. You can also try using Discounted Labs. Here's a basic panel: https://www.discountedlabs.com/trt-basic-monitoring-panel

See those labs would be killer. The math just seems to go the way of UGL every time unless I’m missing something. Maybe I’ll do some more research on how to dial in dosage before making a decision.

UGL if you dont travel a lot...only reason i hold a script is when i travel.

We won’t be traveling much right away, maybe a little in the states, but not sure when that would be even.

Also, with the travel aspect, I just flew 3times in the past 2 weeks internationally. I had my vials, syringes, sanitation wipes all in a travel case for injectables and they didn't check it once. They flagged my hair gel though...

Oh yea, 100% the math goes in favor of UGL. I just like having the insurance (haha) of having a prescription on hand to ensure I don't get something taken away or go without it.

Through TRT Nation I paid $250 for one vial of test and 10 adex.
Through UGL $250 will get you over a years worth.
Five times the amount of test and adex for the same price seems like a winner to me.

Exactly why I’m looking at UGL. It’s robbery from a clinic.

The hair gel haha. See I’m not sure if we’ll be flying anywhere any time soon, this year at least. So it’s not even a concern for me really at this point.
